“I had a fully paid reservation, and at check-in I was asked to provide a credit card for the security deposit, which is perfectly understandable.
However, even though I had four different credit cards, from four different networks, none of them worked with the hotel’s POS terminal.
The issue was clearly not with my cards, but with the hotel’s payment system.
It was 7:00 PM, I was traveling with my three-year-old child, and despite the obvious situation, the staff refused to let me check in.

“I expect certain things when staying at a well regarded chain hotel - one of those is free internet usage. It's been 20 years since I have had to pay for Boingo or the like but here we are having to sign up for Hilton Honors membership to access the wi-fi. Sorry; way too many emails as it is, boys!
Parking was not free although when making the reservation I was under the impression it was. It was discounted so for that, thanks.
No complimentary breakfast? Come ON! I know the price of eggs were...

“This was our initial stay at Homeward Suites and we would never return to this hotel. We were assigned room #105 and as soon as we walked in the sofa smelled like a dog had laid on it for days. We purchased a can of Lysol to cope with the odor.
There were numerous dogs there, too many to count. At 10pm the basketball court was still active and noisy! We left the hotel one morning and the outside back parking lot door had a rock in the door so other non-paying customers may have entered. On our...

“When we stay at a hotel we usually clean before we settle in. This room was the cleanest we have seen. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The breakfast was better than average for hotel breakfasts. Good variety of offerings and usually well stocked. The staff were helpful with every request we had.
