Good hotel in a sad neighborhood. If you do not have a car you are essentially limited to the hotel restaurant as the city of Su'ao offer limited options for dining as a family. Similarly, it is hard to enjoy the Yilan region as the public transit options are not frequent and require extreme planning to go around.
That said the hotel itself has great staff, a wonderful breakfast buffet and is overall a good place to be.
My only gripe is the design of the bathrooms that is annoying when traveling as a family that is neither Japanese nor Finnish and do not practice nudity as a group. Would have been fine, had we traveled as a couple. Bedding and all other amenities were great.
