Welcome to Keira Cottage, a classic Blue Mountains timber retreat nestled in the heart of Katoomba. This charming two-bedroom getaway combines rustic character with cozy comfort, offering a true mountain escape surrounded by nature. Set among tall trees, the cottage invites you to relax and enjoy distant valley views from the back verandah—an idyllic spot to watch native birds or the mist rolling through on cool mornings.

Inside, the warm glow of the slow-combustion wood fireplace creates a perfect winter haven, complemented by a gas heater and electric blankets to keep you snug year-round. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area is thoughtfully equipped with all essentials, including a cooktop and oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee plunger, and cooking basics. The bathroom features a bath/shower combination with continuous hot water for complete comfort.

Conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from Katoomba’s town centre and railway station, Keira Cottage is close to scenic bushwalks, the iconic Three Sisters, and many Blue Mountains attractions. With its peaceful ambience, inviting interiors, and traditional charm, this timeless cottage is the perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and experience the beauty of the mountains.

Charming Blue Mountains retreat

Charming cottage in Katoomba, close to amenities and walks. Very cosy. Entrance to house was complicated by pelting rain on our arrival so was a bit frustrating. It would have been good to know beforehand that the gate is electric and you need to get keys from key safe before trying to park. However, we managed to battle the weather, unload our bags and settle in for a rainy night with the gas fire on and wind howling outside.

We enjoyed our stay here but didn’t realise that there was no wifi however we were able to hotspot from phone data. The layout of lounge and kitchen should be reversed as it was difficult to see the tv screen from the lounge. Backyard was full of weeds but the walks and town was absolutely beautiful. Although I twice requested a receipt, the manager returned my request with an autogenerated email but no receipt with the cost itemised and claimed it wasn’t his responsibility. He was very abrupt on the phone also.

Good location, no parking for large car. Small car only. They do not supply enough fire wood

Kitchen equipment needs a review and update. Supply enough fire wood for the couple of nights minimum would be ideal. Bath room requires ventfan.

Great Little Cottage

This cottage was fabulous for a quick trip to the mountains to visit the scenic railway and surrounds for a few days. Easy to get into the main street of Katoomba. Very close to Leaura which we ended up eating out at a few times. We were a bit caught out by the cool weather in January but the gas heater, fireplace and electric blankets on the beds kept up comfortable.

Lovely and homey

Warm, cosy feeling to the place, perfect for the blue mountains. Loved the beds, fireplace and heater. The art was lovely too. Easy drive to Katoomba and Leura.
