“The room was clean, with modern/quirky tech features. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, providing a place to store our luggage after the check out time. The hotel is in a good location for the Redjet passenger ferry and the high street with bars and restaurants. It is also located a few mins walk from the taxi rank and bus stop that has connections to Newport.”

Beautiful room , very smart and clean, lovely river views, comfy bed and spotless linen.Only downside to room 19 is the noise during the day and early eve from people eating below on the terrace, but very quiet overnight. Also before 9am in the morning, hammer banging and electric drill noise outside window next to our headboard, suggest workmen check if room occupied before commencing work! “Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return.”
