“We always have a great time at the Hopetoun. The rooms are spacious, cosy and clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is always amazing! We look forward to going back - highly recommended!”

“Excellent hotel in lovely historical grounds amazing value (dinner included in price - 3 course meal). Food very good, bar nice. Parking on site. Just outside Dumfries town centre. A former hospital site, which is also a University campus - lovely grounds for a walk”

“Great stay. Derek and Rena were lovely hosts. Breakfast was great. Overall a very nice stay indeed.”

“Fantastic stay, everything you could need and communication was excellent”

“A great location with Lovely staff:)”

“The room was lovely but the sink in the en-suite was tiny & hard to get a wash or clean your teeth in without getting water everywhere. The front of the sink unit was already water damaged. The shower was good & easy to use. The lady who greeted us was very helpful & friendly especially as we forgot to take our key out with us & had to ask her to let us in to our room. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. There was a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order”

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”

“Odore insopportabile fumo nella camera. Quasi impossibile dormire.”

“Staff were excellent. Food was very good. Central location. Spacious room with fridge. All rooms in the hotel are up some stairs. No lift.”

“Posto bellissimo. Ottimo in tutto. Unico difetto: la temperatura della camera era troppo alta”
