“lovely olde worlde style pub and restaurant”

“Stayed the night in the converted skittle ally - Pre-Booked a table for Dinner days before, Service was really poor - Left for 35 Minutes with no one attempting to take order, had to go to bar to complain - staff more interested in chatting with locals then serving the tables - food was dropped on the table, at no point did anyone ask if the food was ok, left feeling like we were not welcome - a complete shame because the food we did receive was amazing ! clearly a great kitchen team, let down...

“The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. Whilst eating our delicious breakfast each morning we were entertained with music from Steve's extensive vinyl collection, which was a really good start to each day. “On arrival the reception was awful with staff unable to access records but their attitude was very off hand towards us. The room was clean but badly set up. For instance, the double bed was only accessible from one side; there was nowhere for storage of cases etc. and the only area to hang clothes was a row of five hooks, three of which overhung the box on which the kettle and cups etc. were kept; the shower cubicle was missing one of its two doors; the sink in the toilet was so restricted by a...

“Stayed here only a couple of months ago this time in a different suite with a lounge, kitchenette and dining area separate to the bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Warnly welcomed and shown to my room and helped out with cooling my drinks. Plenty of parking available. Extremely comfortable bed leading to a great night's sleep and a cooked breakfast with good quality, locally sourced items setting me up for the day ahead.”

“Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again. The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun.”
