“The staff were courteous on arrival and gave us a tour of the beautiful building before showing us to our room. The house and surrounding environment were superb. The room was comfortable and clean albeit a little too warm at night. Our breakfast was tasty and varied served by a very polite young lady. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and would recommend it to others. ”

“Rooms here are great, each one is quirky in their own way, and a lovely touch to have radio playing in room as background music on arrival. The 2 ladies that greeted us on arrival were welcoming and showed us all (4 guests) to our rooms. Evening meal in the bar was great too, cold and frosty outside, the pub reminded me as something out of The Holiday!!!”

“Great experience. The building is quaint, cozy, with a unique design and interior decoration. Beautiful dining area and bar. The room (ground floor), was spacious and with a lovely art deco interior. Very nice shower with good water pressure, nice choice of shower gels and other amenities. The plumbing in the toilet was a bit iffy, but nothing too serious. Very comfortable bed, with soft pillows (this is my preference so I was happy with it). “Great atmospheres! Staff always very helpful, kind and smiling. The position is very comfortable: every interesting corner of York is few minutes walk from there. I felt like home. Extremely happy of the choice. ”

“Very comfy big bed, shower and taps took ages to get hot, but eventually did. Lots of tea and coffee options in room together with a fridge with wine and snacks if required. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. Bit strange going in and out at back of the building, but happy to recommend as somewhere central to stay.”

“The real problem is that the spa is not working and that’s the reason why I stayed in the hotel. I should have been notified same way I got a message about how busy is the restaurant and that needs to be booked beforehand. ”

“The room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. Access was easy using the door enrty codes provided. Wifi was good and easy to log onto. The Guest house was also vey quiet, with no disturbances. I used the breakfast room before I left, and ate granola, greek yoghurt and blueberries with a Coffee latte. These were dispensed from a vending machine, but were fresh and tasted lovely. Bowls, mugs and cuttlery were available. The staff I met were also friendly and chatty. I would highly recommend...
