Staff was very friendly and helpful. They lent us umbrellas, called taxis for us, helped us with dining reservations. We really liked being on the water and watching the boats go by. The breakfast was amazing - well worth it!

Situated directly across from the Kokugikan, this is ideal for fans of sumo. The walk along the Sumida River is wonderful. The room itself was ok, but overly warm even with the air conditioning. The room is small, but not unusually so for Japan. It does, however, lack many hooks or other places to hang things or even put things down. The staff is great, especially in the fine restaurant they have.

大相撲観戦で利用させていただきました。観戦前に荷物を預けたのですが、スタッフの方が親切に対応をしていただき、気持ちよく大相撲観戦ができました。目の前に国技館が見える部屋を用意していただき、翌朝は雨でしたが、寄せ太鼓が聞こえ、叩く姿も見ることができ、夫婦ともども感激しました。好立地で、スタッフの対応も非常に良く、大満足の休暇を過ごすことができました。ありがとうございました。今後も大相撲観戦では利用させていただきたいと思います。できれば隅田川の水上バスにも乗車したいと考えています。いろいろな点で満足できるホテルでした。最高です。

We had a wonderful stay! Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is quite modern and about a 5-10 minute walk to the subway (depending on which station you go to) which was very convenient. Beautiful view of the water and the staff was extremely kind!

Hotel ist neu und sehr sauber. Frühstück ist okay aber nicht nach meinem Geschmack. Zur Auswahl stehen 3 Gerichte und einwenig Buffet mit Salat und warmen Essen. Die Zimmer mit Flussblick würde ich jedoch nicht mehr buchen, da eine mehrspurige Straße/Brücke direkt am Hotel führt und dadurch schon im Zimmer laut war (waren in der 6. Etage).

Hotel is really nice and modern. Staff is great and helped us all time. Tehre is a subway station 1 block away and it takes 15min to get to all centric tourist sights. I will absolutley recommend this hotel.

Nice size rooms for Japan and a great shower and bath room. Full service bar and restaurant in the loby is very nice as well. Higher floors are better for less highway noise.

Hotel staff were lovely - so nice and were able to accommodate our needs. The hotel was clean and spacious, it is near many unique tourist attractions and close to the train station which was less than a 5 minute walk. Tons of delicious eateries nearby.

The Gate Hotel is very modern and sleek. I love the clean smell as you walk through the doors. Staff is very friendly and professional. I liked that they spoke English well as it made it easy to communicate. This is our second time staying here and it is definitely our hotel of choice when we come to Ryugoku.

I really loved my stay with the Gate Hotel. We were greeted by the staff who were extremely warm to us & attentive to what we needed. The rooms were bigger than expected and the beds were comfortable. I also loved that it is conveniently located near a convenience store and at a quiet area. Overall loved my stay & would come back soon !

部屋が広く快適でした。寝台が合わないと良く腰が痛くなタイプですが、ベッドのテンションも程よく楽に眠れました。 誕生日の時に利用させてもらいましたが、レストランにもっとウェルカムできる仕様であったら更に良かったかと思います。

Amazing hotel, super clean, quiet, great amenities and wonderful staff. Would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tokyo. It’s very close to the Ryogoku train station and 711. Very convenient.

It's awesome!
The room is comfortable and clean. The desk and chair are amazing! I could stay at the room for months if I need to work in Tokyo. The hotel is close to the JR train station, very convenient. Everything is good except breakfast. The breakfast is so simple. I'd choose to get the food and drink in the convenient store nearby next time.

Location: The hotel is conveniently located next to the train station. There are complaints in some reviews about the highway noise but it didn't bother me. My room was facing the river by the highway and for the most part I didn't hear much or whatever sounds I did hear were muted. I had a room on the 6th floor so that also might be why the sound was less intense for me vs being on the bottom floors closer to the highway. Japan in general is really safe and the area is really safe. I was walking around late at night by myself and didn't feel unsafe at all. I noticed a lot of foreigners in the area. Cleanliness: The hotel was very clean. They tell you when you check in when their cleaning hours are and confirm with you. Sometimes if the cleaning staff sees you in the hall they will ask if it's ok to clean your room which I really appreciated. They don't randomly barge into your room at 6AM and wake you up or cause an awkward situation like some places. Room: The walls are very thin. You can hear people in the rooms next to you to talking at normal levels or moving around. The bed was too hard for me. It wasn't uncomfortable to the point where I couldn't sleep but it was not great.

Great location. Close to train station and across the street from Sumo arena and many food choices in quiet area by river. Breakfast good but limited choices . Only negative are the rock hard beds, but fine for my spouse.

Such a good deal for a really nice, new hotel. It’s not as bustling as other parts of Tokyo but if you are wanting to relax it’s great. Rooms are very nice and location near Ryogoku station and water taxis was perfect.
