“A very enjoyable one night stay at the highdown inn. We were half way through a 70 mile run around the coastal path and needed to set off early so we would have missed breakfast, but the staff were kind enough to cook us some delicious bacon sandwiches to take with us as a packed lunch. In addition to this I left my headphones in the room and didn't realize until I was back in Bembridge. I didn't have time to drive all the way back before getting my Ferry home. “The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes”

“Fabulous stay - loved it! Breakfast hamper was absolutely wonderful, though we couldn’t eat it all. Plenty of parking. Key code entry gives more flexibility as to arrival times, which suited us as we were spending the day and having dinner with friends so didn’t arrive till late. Brilliant one night break, will return without a doubt, and have already recommended to friends.”

“A lovely peaceful hotel, beautifully decorated. Pleasant staff. Relaxing bar and lounge. Good choice at breakfast. Free parking and ideally located with a shortish walk to the beach (via Toft zigzag). Not too far from town centre which is 5 mins by car.”
