We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. “Quiet and secluded. The view of the mountains reminded me of the Smokey Mountains. All the rooms are facing the mountains and either have a patio or deck with a small table and chairs. This family run business was very friendly and helpful. The property was a bit hard to find in the village but once located we were able to find it again and again very easily. “Very beautiful place in a nice location. The street to arrive is a little bit damaged and you have to pay attention and if you arrive during the night is dark. I suggest it as a place to stay. The personnel for the receiving very kind and ready to help with all the information you need.”

“Wonderful, authentic property in a real Greek mountain village - like being in a fairy tale! Short, lovely walk to the few shops and tavernas. No A/C, but don't need it with cool mountain temps, even in the middle of August! Host Olga is super cool and helpful. We're coming back!.”

“Great place with amazing views! Elena, the owner, was lovely but doesn't speak English. We managed with a few words each, a bit of sign language and a lot of Google translate. Rooms are perhaps unusual in decor but very comfortable and lots of choice for breakfast - particularly good omelette cooked freshly by Elena. Good tavernas within walking distance. Fabulous walking with the menalon trail. Very quiet and peaceful. And did I mention the views!”
