“We booked one of the nicer rooms. It seemed like a renovation project had been started but not finished. Half the wooden floor had been sanded and in places patched, the rest was stained. Shower was a clunky 70’s spa tub which ran hot and cold without any changes to the lever. Cupboard with glass doors was missing glass in one of them. Exterior of the hotel looked run down. “Lovely B&B with spacious, comfy room & bathroom, all spotless and containing everything we needed. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby for dinner. Easy walk from here down to Bowness. Easy check-in and advance breakfast ordering system but the icing on the cake were the lovely staff. Advised them we had just got quietly married and got back to find they’d decorated our bed! So sweet ❤️”

“The homestead in a lovely period property with matching decor. The room was spotless, spacious with lovely en-suite facilities. Maria and Kevin, the hosts, are lovely people, very friendly and make you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. We stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding at Wennington Hall. Kevin very kindly offered to drop us off and pick us up when we were ready to return. This saved us a lot of hassle trying to arrange taxis to come out for just a short journey. Thanks Kevin...
