Hotel vicino a Valley River Arts - Murphy

“We needed an affordable, no-frills place to stay during our short visit to the Murphy / Lake Hiwassee area. This motel fit the bill and we were very satisfied. It was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the cute retro decor, especially the yard flamingos planted outside each room! Receiving a nice fruit/goodies basket during our stay was a nice surprise and much appreciated.”

The staff from the front desk (when I had a question) to the delightful breakfast (prepared by the lovely Linda) were courteous and kind in true Southern style. “We checked in with our reservation to the last room available. We dropped our stuff in the room that had an interesting odor only to head back out. Once we walked out of the room I realized the door doesn’t lock. Not only from the outside but the inside as well. We let the front desk know that we can’t stay in a room that does not lock we were told that it is their last room available and there will not be a maintenance person around for a few days because it’s Fourth of July weekend. “We had a wonderful 12 day stay. The cabin was very clean, and the neighborhood was beautiful; very wooded area. Cabin has all the amenities, even snacks and cold drinks in the fridge as a welcome touch. Plenty of brochures on area attractions are laid out. Very peaceful sitting on the swing in the screened in porch, listening to the brook down the hill. One thing to note, there are about 8 domestic geese in the area that you will hear from sunrise to sunset if you are on the porch. You...
