Luxury 5* cottage with own private heated pool - Sleep 4

  • Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside at our newly created, adults-only (see note below), five star The Lodge luxury cottage. With no nearby neighbours and views over our own small vineyard to the surrounding woods, our cottage offers an ideal opportunity to leave the cares and noise of every-day life behind and soak up the atmosphere whilst enjoying a glass of something chilled in your private, heated plunge pool. All bedrooms are equipped with efficient air-conditioning units, ensuring a cool and relaxing atmosphere throughout your stay.
    Our property is located deep in the Bordeaux vineyards, a short drive from the beautiful, world famous hill-top village of St. Emilion and about 800m from the local village of Villegouge where you will find a small supermarket, hairdresser and artisan boulanger for your morning croissants. Libourne, a pretty bastide town located at the confluence of the Isle and Dordogne rivers, is around 10 minutes’ drive and all the sites and attractions of the beautiful city of Bordeaux are around 30 minutes away. A day trip to Arcachon combined with a visit to the Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe and one of the most popular destinations in France is a must.
    All the major wine producing areas of Bordeaux (for example St. Emilion, Pomerol, Pauillac, St. Estèphe, Medoc and Margaux) are a short drive away making our cottage the perfect base to explore the wine-making properties and history of the Bordeaux region.
    If you are looking for exciting nightlife and a hectic social whirl then The Lodge is probably not for you – If, instead, you seek peace, tranquillity and the beautiful surroundings of the Bordeaux hinterland then you should definitely come and visit us!

    Please note that for stays shorter than 4 days there is a cleaning fee to add of 80 euros. Those guests booking for 4 or more nights have the cleaning cost included in the overall charge.

    Please note: whilst we consider our cottages the ideal location for a relaxing break for those over 18, we are more than happy to accept youngsters over the age of 14 whose parents feel that they would fit into such an environment – please feel free to contact us if you have children under 18!

    For bookings completed before the 31st of march 2026 (minimum stay 7 nights) we offer a case of 6 bottles of our own delicious wine for free!

Wonderful property, pool and stay. Beautiful private outdoor sitting area and well stocked kitchen. Central for exploring the Bordeaux region. Hosts were exceptional and welcoming. They even had bikes for us to borrow.

Simply perfect

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in the Lodge in June. The old property has been lovingly and beautifully restored by the excellent hosts Iain and Marta. It is perfect if you are looking for relaxation and tranquility with the option of easily exploring the stunning surrounding region. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

5* Luxury Lodge with own pool - 2 Double Bedrooms

High quality renovation with secluded outdoor space and heated pool. Quiet rural location in the vines near Fronsac and close to Libourne, St Emilion and many other interesting parts of the Bordeaux region. We had an excellent 4 day stay partly business and partly leisure!

Fabulous home base for touring Bordeaux area

We are two couples who had a wonderful in this lovely property! We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, lovely sunsets on the back patio and the excellent location to tour Bordeaux, st Emilion and area. Ian and Marta are wonderful hosts who looked after all the small details to make it a wonderful stay! Merci beaucoup!

Fabulous Find

We simply loved everything about this property both inside and out which was to a very high standard with absolutely everything necessary for a fabulous stay. Nothing was too much trouble for owners Iain and Marta and we valued their recommendations and advice on the local area. The outside area was a haven of peace and tranquillity, sitting out with a glass of Chateau Dom Peyreton, enjoying the sun, pool and wonderful view from the garden to the woods. Would definitely recommend this property and hosts as a great base to stay, relax and explore the region.

The house was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Iain was friendly and helpful but kept very much in the background. The location was wonderful and just what we wanted with a lovely view from the property. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.

The ‘Lodge’ was the perfect accommodation for the Bordeaux part of our visit to France. It was a great jumping off point for visits to amazing Chateaux and historic towns. After a day of wine tasting, we enjoyed relaxing in the backyard with the lounges and pool. Indoors, the Lodge is the perfect configuration for 2 couples. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. The property delivered above expectations. Marta and Ian were very accommodating hosts and extremely responsive to our questions both before and during our stay. We would highly recommend staying at the ‘Lodge’ or the sister properties!
