Family Spring Break In Maui

My family really appreciated this condo. Great view. Plenty of space and amenities. Easy access to all of the west side of Maui. Overall great value!

Great central spot in Maui

We loved this condo. It is older but well maintained. Check in was easy. The view off the balcony is amazing. There is a beach within walking distance down the street and chairs, an umbrella and toys included so that was really convenient. Maalaea is a quiet place but also central to pretty much anywhere else you would want to go in Maui, which was great. Would definitely stay there again.

Son First Trip

I rented this condo for my sons and their wives. It was their first trip to Maui/Hawaii and this place couldn't have been more perfect. Beautiful decor, amazing views, and very quiet. Very well stocked form the kitchen to the bathrooms, to the ocean toys. Will definitely rent again.

Beautiful view and lots of turtles!

Very clean and comfortable! We could watch turtles swimming and coming to the beach from the balcony. Kitchen was well stocked and there was everything you needed for a day at the beach. Location was nice to walk to shops and restaurants at the harbor. Unit clearly was a little older but has been kept nice. Only gave a 4 overall rating due to 1) AC could not be set lower than 74 and it got stuffy and warm in the condo at times and 2) door to the patio stuck and was so difficult to open and close and took so much effort that I pulled a muscle in my back just trying to get it closed.

Wonderful Stay

We loved the condo 512! Very clean and all the amenities we could ask for. Short walk to beach and shopping mall. The pool and area around it were very clean and comfortable. We liked barbeque steaks one night! We were extremely happy with our time at Island Sands!

Christmas Vacation in Maui

We throughly enjoyed our stay in Maalea. The condo is centrally located in Maui which made travel to the Northern Kaanapali Beach or Southern Makena Beach areas very accessible. The condo was very clean and well appointed. We particularly appreciated how well the kitchen was stocked and the inclusion of quality beach gear. Overall, you cannot beat the view of the sunrise coming over Haleakala and since we visited in winter we were able to view humpback whales daily from the balcony.

Turtles!

We loved getting to see the turtles come to shore. The condo was great but not walking distance to any restaurant etc. However, it is easy to go to each end of the island. Also loved the split rooms since we were two couples staying. The front bed was a little lumpy and the bed was a little hard. Overall great condo and we would stay again.

It’s all about the location

This condo’s location is great with a balcony overlooking a beautiful area full of whales and turtles. Within walking distance (1/4 mile) to snorkeling and tour boats. Two king beds were great for two couples traveling together. New washer /dryer was also an excellent convenience. Downside is that the secondary bedroom has no drapes or curtains on the frosted jalousie windows. No view from that room and light from parking lot shines in room all night -an issue for light sensitive sleepers. Primary bedroom has great view and balcony but room is quite small and bathroom must be entered from hallway, limiting its privacy. Parking lot is also very tight and is not monitored at night so when our spot was taken we had no place to park except the street. Pool is small with very hot pool deck and no umbrellas for any shade. Teeny adjacent beach area is all rocks so you must travel to a public beach for swimming. If it’s whale watching from balcony you want this is a good spot. But amenities were limited.

Perfect for Two Couples

Island Sands is centrally located for all things Maui. The condo is the perfect layout for two couples and very well stocked. Recommend renting a car and exploring the island! Hire a driver (tour) for Hana so everyone can enjoy. Uber is also easy from this location and the Four Winds crew from Maalaea Harbor was very professional on our snorkel trip! Tante’s at the harbor is a nice dinner spot. There are several grocery stores within 15 minutes. Keep in mind Maalaea Harbor is the 2nd windiest Harbor in the world, but the wind didn’t hold us back! Haycraft Park (beach) is only 1/4 mile and a great morning walk place. The condo is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. Never turned the a/c on in February and slept to the sound of the ocean every night. The lanai was prefect for morning coffee, evening cocktails and whale watching! What a treat! Overall a fantastic stay.

Excellent views

We enjoyed the view from lanai and unit was nice but location is ok had limited amenities near unit. It was quiet and turtles would come onto small sandy area between units but no useable beach on location. Could update bedroom tv and install tv in rear bedroom. Overall enjoyed our stay

Beautiful view

This property does have a beautiful view. The “beach access” is about a 20 foot patch of beach surrounded by rock. The swimming pool is too tiny to make up for not being able to relax on the beach. It is a great place to what watch and relax on the lanai.

The condo was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay in it. Great management company - they had thought of everything we might need to have a good stay in the condo. They had left beach equipment, towels, and starter supplies (bathroom, kitchen, and washer)! Our only suggestion would be to change the keylock box - it’s outdated and we had a hard time using it. Perhaps putting a modern electronic lock with codes will work better for a rental.

This is a truly fabulous condo. Everything from the view (which is beyond imagination), to the comfort of the living area. Beds were fantastic, kitchen had everything we needed, very clean and beautiful. Did I mention the views ... PERFECT!

Great views- sunrises and turtles

We really enjoyed our stay at Island Sands. The view was great and each morning we were treated to a wonderful sunrise. Listening to the ocean waves lull you to sleep in the front bedroom was peaceful. Green Sea Turtle frequent the waters and beach which you have a full view of from the balcony. The layout of the condo is great for 2 couples. The 2 bedrooms are at opposite ends of the condo so allows for privacy. The kitchen had everything we needed, although is not very well lit. The condo is close to the airport and Kehei, and is super close to the Aquarium and several boating excursion options right in Maalaea. The beach is super small and not a beach for walking on or beach combing. You can bring chairs down to sit at the water’s edge, but not much room. The pool was a great temperature and very refreshing. Several chaise lounges to sit on around the pool area. No umbrellas so depending on where the sun is at, you may or may not have shade. Overall we enjoyed the peace and calm at the Island Sands condo. Great view, nice location.

Great location and super condo

We are a family of 4 adults at this time. The condo worked perfectly for us. It is modern, clean, convenient to the entire rest of the island and a great view from the linai. We enjoyed out stay and highly recommend the condo. Check-in was easy.

Great location for exploring Maui

Not only is the condo very well appointed, we loved the location--15-20 minutes to Lahaina, Kehei, and the airport. We were able to see whales and turtles from the lanai! We also really liked having the split A/C units, so we could keep the bedrooms different temps, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!
