  • New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

    From this ocean location, Whale Song enjoys 2,100-square-feet of living space and is waiting to be your true beach home. Parking is easy, and you'll be just a short walk from beach access. Whale Song has an outside shower, a fish station, and an under-house entry. The wrap-around deck offers multiple options for sun and shade. On the first level, the first bedroom has two twins and is next to a full hallway bath. The second bedroom has a queen, a TV, deck access, and a full bath. The third bedroom has a double bed, a TV, deck access, and is near the laundry facilities. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds. The interior features warm and welcoming wood accents. The large top floor great room has a half bath, tall cathedral ceilings, ceiling fans, and a comfortable living area with an entertainment center. The well-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, an extra-large breakfast bar, and is near an intimate dining area. A wide furnished sun deck offers views of the ocean and sunsets.     Things to know:
    Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility, located at the Avon office address: 41156 Hwy 12, Avon, NC 27915. The pool is generally open from May 24 to September 8, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Please note that the operation of community pools is subject to the discretion of the state inspector, management, and/or the HOA. As a result, the availability schedule may change without prior notice.

Clean house and close to beach

House was very clean upon arrival. It is right by beach and can walk there. The area is a more secluded part of outer banks.

Perfect get away

This was the perfect little getaway for my family. Very nice and quiet area. The house was great from cleanliness well equipped with towels linen etc. Very close walking distance to the beach as well. 10/10 recommend and will definitely book again in the future!

Great house in a great location. You get a hint of ocean view on one side of the top deck and a pretty decent sunset view on the other side. Plenty of bathrooms and space for our family of 7. Saw a free tiny ants near the sink, but nothing crazy. Probably the best equipped kitchen of any vrbo I've used. They had ever kitchen utensil I could want.

It was pet friendly, was the main reason, but once arrived, found the location very nice and house was nice. Would recommend to friends and family.

Great Location

Positives: Location is great, house was as described and clean. Negatives: Beds are very firm, we could not check in until 5PM. All in all this is a great place and I would recommend.

Nicely located property

Nicely located property near to beach and sound. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. decks are very nice. Out door shower helpful to keep sand down in house. Would stay again.

Could have been cleaner and had ants in kitchen, plus one shower drain was clogged that we fixed. Not bad place. Good location/proximity to beach! Multiple decks and hot tub were nice for enjoying outdoors!

The location and layout were great. The house itself had fleas and cockroaches and the property management company knew about it before we came but didn’t inform us. They also didn’t resolve the issue until a lot of time was put into it by me and VRBO. I wouldn’t trust to stay with Vacasa again.

Great location, very close to beach, lots of room for our two families and two dogs and had most of things we needed in the kitchen. Woke up to a lot of ants in the bathroom but rental agency was very responsive. Would be nice if the rental included coffee filters for coffee maker. We brought some but had the wrong type.

Very nice house within easy walking distance to beach!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very well kept, with a really nice open common area on the top floor. The entrance to the beach was about 100 yards from the driveway, so it was just a couple minutes walking to get out to the beach. The town had a few small grocery stores within 5 minutes driving, which had most of what you'd need for a week stay (including a good beer and wine selection). All in all, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place! Thanks!

A house with everything

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house so close to the beach with our family and dogs! The beach access was so convenient. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. Kitchen had plenty to offer. There was a back yard for the dogs to use. The only drawback was the house is completely carpeted which traps other dogs odors. We would definitely stay here again though.

Great location

Almost perfect quick trip. The layout fit our family perfectly. Quick walk to the beach. Well appointed kitchen. The mattresses could use an upgrade they are really firm. We also had issues with tiny ants in the kitchen so make sure you seal everything as there is no real pantry.

Great ocean views, great location! Kitchen fully stocked. Hot tub looked new & clean. Bathrooms were nice & updated. Our first time visiting Waves. Hatteras Realty was awesome & very nice people to work with, very friendly. Worked out great for our family & our needs! Thank you for a fantastic stay! Def. recommend Hatteras & Whale Song

Its ok

There is mold on the ceiling, paint peeling, rock hard beds, moldy shower curtains, dusty furniture, and dirty dishes. It was easy to find, but far away from all shopping and restaurants. And the hill on the public access to the beach was so steep.

Whale song stay

Great location, house was perfect for our family and the rental process was easy. Only con is there were ants on the top floor the next day after we occupied the house. We were sure to keep the kitchen clean, but if some food was left out more than an 30mins, there were ants.

Nice place and convenient to the ocean

We enjoyed our stay and the home we rented. We had a couple of exceptions, the fridge ice maker did not work which was a bit of a hassle and the upper deck furniture is very weathered and wobbly. We would have also enjoyed more comfortable couches. These were the only negatives from a nice vacation stay.

I stayed here in late Sept / early Oct ~ the first floor has several bedrooms, all good size and 2 restrooms. The upstairs is a nice open floor plan w high ceilings, lots of windows and spacious kitchen. The deck off the upstairs level wraps around 3 sides of the house. Great for sun or stars. This is a very nice for a family, a couple or just a single person w their dog who wants to get away. Comfy furniture ~ very nice home.

Beautiful home

Beautiful home, close to the beach. Beach access is less than 200 feet away. You are close enough to the beach to see it and hear the waves crashing without paying the ocean front price! The house offers great cookware and newer appliances as well as recent remodeling to the bathrooms. The only negative I had was that the cleaners left empty drink bottles under the furniture in the living room. I will recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to have a great vacation stay!

Great for our large family

I don't normally write reviews. This house was simply wonderful for our family. The house was clean, simple check in and check out instructions. We were on a very nice street with the beach within walking distance. There are local shops and restaurants near by. We just simply loved our vacation there. The only thing I would ask to change would be to put out enough toilet paper for a family of 7. As side from that minor detail, it was just wonderful! :)

Convenient Family home

We've stayed at this house two years in a row and love it's convenience to the beach and how quiet it is (there are so many stars to see at night). The kitchen is fully stocked and housekeeping does a good job cleaning everything including the hot tub (we saw them after leaving and going to the beach to avoid the traffic). The house does need an update though. The carpeting is getting smelly from the humidity and we even had a visit from a..... water bug in one bedroom.
