Clean Cozy Room
We made last minute reservations to attend a memorial service in the area. This room was perfect size as we were really only there to sleep. Room had everything we needed for our stay and was VERY clean. We look forward to staying again sometime! Thank you for sharing your place with us!

Perfect Getaway

Our stay was very nice. The only thing that could have made the stay better, is the front curtains closing a little better. With the curtains pulled together, you can still see in the room on the sides.

Black Bear Never Disappoints
Property is always clean, safe and as advertised. We stay here exclusively when we travel anywhere "up North" - close to fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, trails, woods water and great food.

Fishing Trip
We were in town for Salmon fishing, and this was a great location for launching out of Tippy Dam. The location was clean and cozy. We had everything we needed and more! We will definitely be back! Thank you for making this a great trip!

Room was perfectly "up north woods!" It is small, but is perfect for an up north, mostly outdoor adventure. Very clean. The small kitchenette was very convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything you need at a great price.
It was clean, neat and very quiet considering it being right off the highway. It was close to where I needed to be. I was doing a trail race in the Manistee National Forest and it was close to where the start was. My "Den" was everything I needed and it was very affordable. It is the smallest of their "dens/rooms" but it was only me and didn't need anything more. And it was even close to enough (about a 20 minute drive to the shore) to Lake Michigan to enjoy the sunset there. My issue was that for some reason my cell coverage wasn't great all the time...my issue not theirs so you may want to take that into consideration. I am planning on staying there next year for the same race. I only wish I knew about this place last year before staying in dirty, mice invested "cottage".! Communication with them was awesome, which to me, is also and important factor.

Great Location
After a long day of adventure it was great to come back to a clean and comfortable air conditioned room. The room was updated and had so many nice little touches like a stocked mini kitchen and everything you needed for a bbq out back. This was our first stay here and we will be looking into the bigger one and two bedroom cabins on site. This is a great place to stay thank you!

Just what we needed!
This was the 2nd time my husband and I stayed at this property/room. Per usual, it was very clean, easy entry, and had everything we needed in the room. The snacks and breakfast cereal/oatmeal were much appreciated! We love the location of this property as it's close to Big M and we love to ride the mountain bike trails there. Will stay here again.

Fantastic Find!
We stayed at the property last weekend while on a retreat with friends. I didn't want to sleep in a tent so we compromised and got a room here and I'm so glad we did!!! Property was clean and very well kept. You can't hear the other guests or traffic. A/c was nice and cool and the plumbing/shower ran perfectly. They included little soaps and lotions and kitchen amenities to make everything perfect. We even got mints on our pillows lol! I highly recommend staying here and look forward to booking with them in the near future when we bring our family to "glamp" and float the Pine River. Great places to eat breakfast is Mel's Cafe and dinner at the Redneck Yacht Club just up the road a few miles. Enjoy!

Fantastic
We were looking for a centralized place to stay in Michigan so that we could visit all our favorite places. This place was affordable and great. Clean, quiet, and comfy. The only bad thing is that it was not in walking distance of any town. We drove everywhere. Not a deal breaker but would have been good.

Mansitee Bistro Hotel
We had a lovely time here over labor day weekend. Although the smallest of the rooms at this location it was great for the two of us. The kitchenette though small is enough to do a simple meal and well appointed for its size. Very clean rooms and nice woodsy location.

Like a small cabin getaway
Everything about the place was excellent. Only real complaint I have is the robo-messaging received about not paying for the room. Owner told me to ignore those but still a little disconcerting since very little is needed to hose a digital reservation. Otherwise, for what we needed (a place to collapse after north country trail run) this was spot on and then some.

Hi Richard, I'm glad that you found the room to be everything you needed. My apologies for the payment requests that were sent from HomeAway- I wasn't aware they were repeatedly sending these notices- you weren't meant to receive the first payment request. I hadn't realized it would send additional notices. Hopefully this doesn't happen again with your 2020 reservation. See you next year!

This was not your traditional hotel in that it does not have an on-site office. However, communication was great. Our reservation was confirmed and access code was provided. It was quiet, comfortable, and clean. We stayed only one night so didn't make use of the common areas or grills, though that is a nice feature. We simply needed a quiet, clean place to crash for the night in the Manistee area. This fit the bill perfectly! We'd stay here again with no hesitation.

We really liked that it had a small kitchenette with a 12 cup coffee pot! Large room, nice beds and very nicely decorated. Clean and cozy with a fire pit BBQ picnic table for there guests. We will be back ! Thank you.

the bear inn, in welston,michigan.
was very clean,it's a 5 star plus in my book ,had all the amenities as the big motels,price was reasonable, and I have stayed at other establishments in the area over the yrs.they don't compare.had very good time on our short stay,will definitely book again. thank you nora.

All rooms were clean an well presented. Bathroom well supplied. Plenty of hot water. Good Wi.Fi/TV
My only complaint is that the heating unit is VERY noisy particularly on start-up . Continuous sleep is virtually impossible unless the heating is turned off.
