Nearby Saltwick Bay (3 miles) is a lovely small beach with rock pools, fossils and shipwrecks to discover.

The market town of Pickering (22 miles) has a castle to explore, boutique and vintage shops and plenty of eateries to indulge in. From Pickering, you can take the North Yorkshire Moors train into the countryside and get off for a walk or a cycle at any stop. Alternatively, head to Goathland (10.5 miles) and follow the trail to Beck Hole, passing Mallyan Spout Waterfall.
