Thank you for the review. We always strive to get a 5-star review and just to let you know we rely upon our guests to let us know when maintenance needs to be completed in our vacation home. There is a maintenance book in the condo to leave us a note. We live 80 miles away and both work 40 hours a week, so contacting us by text or phone call would be helpful when maintenance is needed if you prefer not to leave a note.in the condo. The patio light has been repaired and the bathroom rugs are in the process of being replaced. Please come back when an opportunity arises so we can give you that 5-star experience.

Thank you for the feedback. This is the very first time in 5 years anyone has ever commented on the rules. Just to let you know some of the rules in place are not made by the owners. For example when our guest bring a pet, like a cat, into our condo, it violates the homeowners association rules. In addition to this violation we as owners, and other guests too, are allergic to pets, and then a cleaning fee is charged back to our guest to thoroughly clean the condo. Hang tags in the vehicles are required by our homeowners association. This is not our rule. Only one vehicle can park in front of the condo. Again, not our rule. It was also mentioned that the silverware was labeled and numbered. We simply use the labels for inventory in our vacation home and never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable to use them. It is only to let our guests know the number of items and what is available in our condo. We as owners are responsible for any violations during our guests stay and we want you to feel comfortable in our home. In turn we ask that our guests respect our house rules and the bylaws of our HOA.

We always want our guest to have a great experience, and we do our best as owners to provide you with that 5-star rating we would like to have in return. However, there are some responsibilities that our guests have during their stay. One of those responsibilities is to contact us when there is an issue. We live 160 miles away round trip and are not right there to be at your door when issues arise, however we are just a phone call, text, or email away and could have been contacted regarding the loudness and smoking in the other units, so communication is the key to a successful stay at our condo. Had you contacted us we would have called the HOA staff and had them respond to your complaint. We did not know any of the issues you were having until after your stay. We did address the issue with the HOA, after we were informed by you, and the HOA said the same thing we did, the issues need to be resolved during the stay. There is a venue across the parking lot and a clubhouse down the street, and sometimes weddings and parties will be in this area due to the businesses around us. Our neighbors directly to the right and left side of our condo are long term permanent residents and do not smoke or play loud music, and they are very respectful of our guests. When issues arise with other condo owner’s guests smoking, loud music and noise, the best option is to contact the police and the condo owners. We would have told you what to do had we known there was an issue. We ask our guests to read the rules and regulations of our condo and ask that you respond that you have read them. This guest did not respond to reading the rules and regulations therefore, this guest would have known they could reach us anytime day or night when they have an issue. We offered you a 2 day stay as a courtesy to those issues you had over the weekend, even though we have no control over the loud music and smoking. We retracted the 2 day stay because we discovered some additional issues that we were not made aware of during your stay. Our housekeeper takes pictures of our electric grill after each guest stay and sends them to us by text. There is a notice at the bottom of the grill that when it is dirty after a guest stay, there is an additional housekeeping charge to clean the grill. When the housekeeper lifted the grill lid, the grill was dirty and there was grease in the pan. The grill cover was not on the grill and pictures were taken of the outside and inside of the grill and the grill cover, which was damaged beyond repair due to it was either put back on while the grill was still hot, or the grill turned on after adding the grill cover. Someone had to have known that the grill was on, because the grill was not hot when the housekeeper took pictures, and the grill was off. This is the reason we retracted the courtesy 2 day stay at our condo. We were not informed of this grill incident anytime during the guest stay. Furthermore, we had to purchase a new $180 replacement grill and place it in our condo for our next guest because of this incident. The shelves that sit around the grill were melted and scorched brown around the edges and beyond repair, so much that other guests would not want to use it. The lid and the grill were still dirty. If it was cleaned, it was not sufficient to use for our next guest. We charged you only for the grill cover and for the cleaning fee. Anytime during your stay as a guest in our condo, please communicate any issues to us by phone call, text, or email thru the VRBO site. We want your stay to be a 5-star rating and we want you to enjoy your visit. It is difficult to resolve issues if we are not informed until after the condo stay. Communication is the key to having a successful and great stay at our condo.
