“De Vere Tortworth Court is a beautiful and unique mansion, completely surrounded by nature, built over 170 years ago. We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. “Breakfast buffet is quite limited but adequate. Toast, jam, assorted fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans and hash browns. Scrambled eggs would have been better. Room was quite large but old. Peeling paint on the baseboard, old granny wallpaper and a bathroom from 1980. The toilet won't flush without a lot of extra effort. Air conditioner would have been appreciated. “Lovely hotel but very little to do. With all guests spending time at the spa there was no beds by the pool. Food was delicious but overall the experience was too expensive compared to its value.”
