“I booked the stay as part of a surprise for my husband's birthday, and he was very impressed and absolutely raved about it. He could not fault a single thing about our stay. Starting with the location, it was not far to walk to York centre (around 20 minutes or so). We stayed in the Samurai suite. The theming of the room was fantastic, right down to the sunken bath. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was evident that the owners had not scrimped on quality of the furnishings or bedding....

A couple of small things: 1- It would have been nice to know there was a flight of narrow stairs to get to room, 2- Bathroom sink is blocked by overhanging cabinets, toothbrushing very difficult, 3- bathroom door drifts open against the bed unless closed and then the bathroom is very hot. ”
