“hote marcella royal”
stanze troppo piccole non c'era posto neacnhe per i bagagli, personale molto competente, terrazza molto bella.
“Central, but certainly not 4*”
Nothing bad to say about this hotel. But equally nothing overly remarkable either. The rooms are very small, and everything is finished in the same, dated (but well maintained) gold fabric. The location is great (just a few min from Termini), the staff are friendly, and the rooftop terrace is a lovely place to have breakfast in the morning. I guess, had I been expecting a 3* hotel, I would have been very impressed. But to say it's 4* just pushes it a little too far. Overall, if you can get it cheap - go for it, but if you're paying I'd look elsewhere.
“A wonderful hotel with wonderful service”
You cannot go wrong with this hotel, a good location, beautiful rooms, a fabulous roof terrace with amazing views and excellent service. we would go back tomorrow!
“location great and well kept, but small and uncomfortable”
I would recommend this hotel if you can't afford anything better, and only for one or two people (not for those travelling with children). The girl who checked us in was very nice; she seemed to be the only staff as she also served us breakfast and cleaned the rooms. There is no elevator which isn't too bad once you get your bags up the steps. The room was clean. The bed was not comfortable, the shower was very small, the walls are thin, and there is no lobby, restaurant or pay per view as you would find in US hotels (not that we expected any of that, but what I mean is that there is nothing to do at the hotel) and we couldn't get the AC to work (opening the windows was nice for air but too noisy), but if you are looking for a place to crash that is a 30 sec walk from St. Mark's Square, it is great. Two important tips: I suggest GPSing the hotel or something because the street addresses are difficult to figure out and we wandered around with our suitcases for quite a while before we actually found the place, and make sure the hotel knows what time you are arriving as no one is there once breakfast is served and the rooms are clean - we got lucky that someone was there to let us in (the outer door is always locked) or we wouldn't have known what to do (there is some other hotel you are supposed to call but we didn't have that info or even have a phone to call with).
“Lovely, comfortable and friendly”
Central, comfortable hotel with friendly staff, especially Salvatore in the upstairs bar, Edwin and Marco. Close to all main sights and lovely intimate restaurants. If I was to say we had any issues is there are no irons or an ironing room available in the hotel.
“The roof top terrace is the plus for this hotel.”
I chose this hotel after reading reviews and looking at the weather forecast for the time we were in Rome. We were there from 4th Oct and it was hot, so it was absolutely wonderful to have the roof terrace to eat breakfast, have somewhere to sit late afternoon and a pre-dinner drink. The hotel location suited us because we do not mind walking and it is in a safe district. There are a few good restaurants within a minutes walk and an ice cream shop that is an absolute must! The room was fine and with the shutters open you could look over the rooftops (we were on the 5th floor). The breakfast is fine, and the hotel very clean.
“MAGIC AT THE MARCELLA”
The Marcella Hotel is situated in the embassy section of Rome. It is located in a pleasant side street which provides a variety of eating places in the evenings, and a couple of grocers for essentials like bottled water. The interior is spacious, luxurious and air-conditioned, as was our bedroom. The staff were kind and very helpful. Special mention to Rosa our chambermaid and Edwin our porter! The roof terrace provides a magical view of the city, both day and night, and the included breakfast is comprehensive and excellent. In the evening there is a snack service and bar on the roof. I found the snack that we had to be both expensive and served on poor quality bread, and there is not a lot left when the snack is a sandwich. I would definitely use this hotel again.
“flavia”
team worked hard to please us and made us feel welcome. lovely rooftop area and view. location was good as easy to get to centre. rooms were clean but were a touch musky almost like a disused castle so could do with abit more airing. i have been to Rome many times and try different locations to get a feel of the city. its a nice Hotel and i would consider staying there again. the breakfast menu needs abit of work i think if i was to stay longer i would not eat there.....it was not well cooked eggs runny,,,bacon tasted abit funny.
“Stunning Hotel!”
I can honestly stay this is a fantastic hotel. I arrived after a short walk from the central Termini Station in Rome and was warmly greeted by extremely friendly staff and was then given a tour and demonstration of all of the hotel features. I was staying in a single room that still had plenty of room to move about in compared to many other hotels in the city. Throughout my stay, the staff were fantastic and offered help and advice whenever I asked. The roof terrace is a particular highlight which offers a great selection of food and drink and amazing views of the city. There are several local bars and restaurants on via Flavia to choose from if you don't want to venture further afield into the city. This hotel offers a great location for those wishing to not be in the central hustle and bustle of the tourist traps but also not too far out of the city. Overall a stunning hotel which I will happily use again on my return to Rome.
“Nothing Special”
There was nothing great or extravagant about the hotel. The location was very far from sights one might want to plan to see. The room was nice, but not amazing. Bed was hard, my wife complained of neck problems. Otherwise staff were nice. I will not be staying at this Hotel the next time I visit Rome.
