“Palazzo Stern Venezia”
“Perfect location with service to match”
The service I received at this hotel was exemplary. Every staf member went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to offer any assistance. The location is perfect: right on the Grand Canal next to a vaporetto stop but in a quiet area away from the crowds. My room was small but beautifully detailed. A lovely place to retire to after a hard day's walking around the world's most remarkable city. The hotel isn't cheap but it delivers on its promise of a luxury experience in luxurious surroundings.
“Avoid Room 507”
Lovely traditional hotel. Very good location for visiting compact city. Far enough away from St Marks but near enough for pleasant 15 min walk and plenty to interest nearer. The hotel was very clean and the staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast better than expected. However our room had no view, just 2 small windows at ceiling level (we only booked a standard room but were under impressio that all roomns had a view - even just courtyard or rooftops and had made a special request for a canal view!). Room consequently very dark. Bathroom however lovely. Would go back again but would contact hotel in advance to ensure room had a view
“Palazzo Stern - a real gem”
This is a very good hotel. I'm almost reluctant to give a glowing review of this hotel as it will doubtless become very popular and therefore difficult to book but that is the only reason. It looks great both inside and out, has exceptional staff who are friendly and helpful, sits right next to a vaparetto stop (#1), and is located in a nice neighborhood close to the Accademia Bridge and Campo Santa Margherita. Our room was very clean, spacious and well equipped, and the bathroom was sumptuous with literally glittering tile. The breakfast was good too and served until 10:30 with smiling tolerance for those arriving right at the end of the breakfast service. There is a well supplied bar at the front of the hotel and a lovely canal front seating area. I have visited Venice multiple times staying in various hotels and this was by far the best experience.
“Great location in Venice”
Perfectly situated on the Grand Canal, 15 minute walk from Rialto bridge and 20 from San Marco. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Comfortable clean rooms with in room espresso machine.
“Great Hotel, Great Price”
I was shocked that a hotel of this quality was available at such a reasonable rate. It is not 'cheap', but for a 4 star hotel on the Grand Canal, free internet, a great breakfast and literally next to a waterbus stop I can't imagine a better deal. I've been to Venice six times and this was by far the best hotel experience.
“Superb Small Hotel”
We stayed at the Palazzo Stern for five nights in late July 2011. From the moment we arrived and were greeted in reception with a personal and gracious welcome, we felt that the stay at this hotel would number amongst the most enjoyable hotel experiences we have had. Our room, a "junior suite", room number 304 on the first floor, was spacious and extremely well appointed and the view over the Grand Canal was spectacular. I could find no fault with the hotel staff or the hotel and I can be someone inclined to try even if not keen to broadcast such opinions. In offering a recommendation, all I need to say is that this is a hotel and a city to which we hope to return and I would happily encourage others to stay here. A few pieces of advice: * finding the hotel from the land approach is a nightmare (Venice is a maze of a city and even some shopkeepers with a few minutes of the hotel didn't seem to recognise the name) so use the waterbus or if you wish to pay a lot more for the same service, a water taxi. Ca' Rezzonica is a stop on line 1 of the waterbus services (line 1 goes up and down the Grand Canal) and the stop is literally 20 paces from the hotel entrance. * the hotel does not have a restaurant and eating in Venice can be expensive affair but not necessarily a pleasurable one; the quality is generally average and poor for Italy. Research eateries in advance and ask reception for advice. *there was free wifi in the hotel but they didn't advertise it - just ask.
“All we expected and more”
We arrived by water taxi to be greeted by Daniel. He organised our luggage, seated us at the Reception Desk, and arranged a most welcome fruit juice for us. After checking in we were shown to our room which overlookied a side canal, (but we could also see the Grand Canal). The room was beautifully appointed with Murano glass light fittings, period furniture, a coffee machine, frigo bar, safe, and ensuite bathroom. The bed linen and towels were changed regularly and each night when the bed had been turned down we found on the pillow a sweet and a card with the weather forecast for the next day - a lovely touch. The buffet breakfast was lovely and had something for everyone – even bacon and egg much to the delight of my husband. The capuccinos were lovely too. All staff were attentative, polite, efficient and nothing was too much trouble, but we must specifically mention Daniel who in addition to performing his duties in an exemplary manner was happy to recommend restaurants., book excursions, tickets etc. The location of the hotel, which is in the quiet Dorsoduro region of the City, is centrally located to the main tourist areas of Piazza San Marco and The Rialto Bridge, both of which can be easily reach on foot, or via the water bus from the Ca’ Rezzonico water bus stop which is only a few steps away from the hotel. If we are lucky enough to return to Venice in the future, would we stay at the Hotel Palazzo Stern? Most definitely - don’t change a thing!
“Absolutely Perfect Venice Hotel”
This was our first stay at the Palazzo Stern in Venice. We were thoroughly impressed with the hotel's location, architecture, beauty and ambiance. But most importantly the service and staff were truly top calibre. They went out of our way to welcome us and see that every one of our needs were met. In addition they gave us some great sightseeing advice which helped us discover parts of Venice we'd never been to in prior visits. All in all, a fantastic hotel, super location, awesome staff...we just can't wait to go there again.
“A Stylish Hotel”
A Moorish Palace! Greeted and served with warm hospitality by all the staff. Well located in the quieter quarters on the Grand Canal within short walking distance to the Accademia bridge and the convenience of a vaporetta stop next to the hotel. Experience it for yourself, you will not be disappointed!
