“The front desk staff were not very friendly. They seemed very serious and rarely smiled. I'm not sure if that's the hotel's policy or just my experience, but it wasn't very welcoming. In fact, the only person who consistently greeted guests with a smile and said goodbye was the security guard at the entrance. That said, the hotel itself was reasonably priced, and I was happy with the room overall.”

“The live in staff needs some extreme customer service in in a personal interaction training. There is a tall white guy that lives on site and he is extremely disrespectful, and need towards the guest. We asked customer spend hours money in the hopes that experience would be a great one. And I’m also hoping that it’s not about my race for the reason this man decided to be very rude and ignorant towards me this morning.”

“For a low-cost, shared bathroom experience, it was excellent, very clean with CTA stations nearby. Also number 65 bus takes you to Navy Pier, very convenient. I recommend Grand House for location and low cost stay.”

“Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights. Overall, I think that we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that peeved us. The biggest thing was that though hot water just wouldn’t turn off no matter what we tried. The water was scolding hot so we were unable to use the shower. Also, the customer service was a little poor with no one being on site. Help was hard to come by if they fix the water issue and maybe had a bit more responsiveness I would easily rate them four stars, but...
