“I truly enjoyed my stay here. I loved the historical significance of this hotel. I rated it exceptionally well because one must understand that the hotel is over 175 years old. Sri Lanka has to recognize the importance of preserving this historical part of town. So much potential in these golden age buildings ”

“Very pleasant stay in this clean, modern hotel. I was in Colombo for business but travelling with my family and we enjoyed the service provided, the restaurant (the hoppers are recommended) and the roof-top pool. The street is very busy (Galle Road) but easy enough to get taxis/tuktuks easily and cheaply to get around the city centre.”

“Seriously, other bad reviews are exagerated. People expect to have a palace for 20$?? The room was perfectly find for this kind of budget hotel. Staff was very kind and helpfull. Neighbourhood can be creepy on sundays and at night but ok during the day. Bed was confortable. I had a view on the city and the lotus tower on the 6th floor. ”

“Overall, the hotel has great potential, but unfortunately, it is completely untapped. The hotel has two advantages: a large pool with an ocean view and all rooms offering ocean views—of course, the higher the floor, the better the view. And that’s where the positives end. There is no service at the hotel whatsoever. Rooms are not ready on time for check-in. Contrary to the descriptions, there is no bar at the hotel. “We stayed the night before departing from CMB and had a great experience at this hotel. Prabath and his staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of Sri Lankan and English dishes. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and restful transit stay.”
