We did have a great time but we were making the best of the situation. The living/dinning area, the kitchen and the upstairs bedrooms were great. However, the main floor bedroom had a moldy odor due to a leaky faucet in the laundry room (clearly a long standing issue). Emailed the owner, no response, it was only when the cleaning staff came to get supplies for another cabin that we were able to get the water to that room shut off. So, washer couldn't be used.
Also, the deck was not cleaned, we had to sweep it up and clean the furniture to be able to use it.
The BBQ couldn't be used, it was quite rusted, and we had to purchase a portable BBQ for the week.
The fire pit was also in a state of decay. We didn't feel safe using it. The upstairs bathroom had visible mold in the shower. Not enough paddles for all the kayaks/canoe.
In terms of communication, it was bare minimum! Only ever communicated for check in and out. Anything else, nothing. The cabin next to us also had this issue. Wifi cut-off and they couldn't get ahold of anyone (they were working). The router for the wifi for all 5 cabins is in the main house.
I wouldn't recommend this cottage to a friend.
Online picture look nice, however the reality does not match the listing.
