Floor apartment with superb roof terrace, next to Almirida sandy beach

Almyrida is considered to be one of the finest holiday destinations in Greece. Almyrida situated 22 kilometres far from Chania, at the East, within a cove at the mouth of the Souda bay. Almyrida is a small beautiful village by the sea, with 133 permanent residents. Almyrida has two sandy beaches, fully organised with umbrellas, loungers and a lifeguard, while there is also a third beach with pebbles just before the village.The beaches of Almyrida are awarded with a Blue Flag every year, showing that the sea is clean and that the beach provides the necessary safety features and customer service facilities.

Panos apartment is located next to Almyrida sandy beach, only 10 metres away, with fantastic sea view. The apartment is full-furnished: 3 air-conditions, Wi-Fi Internet, Satellite TV, DVD-CD player and a small selection of books are available to you. Also food seat and cot are available for babies. It is consisted from 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the living room with fantastic sea view, the sitting-room, a fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cooking and eating utensils and a backside balcony with mountain view. From summer 2016, a NEW ROOF GARDEN 75 sq.metres was built with fantastic sea view, mountain view and Almyrida village view!!
Next to the apartment, there is "UCPA" company for water sport facilities. Wind-surfing and other extreme sports can be found in abundance at UCPA company. Also, mountain bikes can be hired from UCPA. At 'Francoise cafe', the most famous cafe in Almyrida, you should taste the delicious breakfast! In the village there are a couple of mini markets, pharmacy, cafe, bars, restaurants with fantastic Cretan food, gifts shops, grocery and bakeries stores. There is also a small taxi rank and a daily bus service to Chania.
There are many places to visit nearby such as Kalives (3km), Gavalochori (4 km) and Plaka (1 km). Kalives is a working village as well as being a tourist destination. So in addition to the beaches, tavernas, bars & tourist shops there are local shops plus a good-sized supermarket. Banking, post office and petrol station are available.
However, most people seem to totally relax into the calm of this delightful Apokoronas village. About 25 minutes away from Almyrida you will find Lake Kourna, the only natural lake in Crete, an idyllic place to enjoy a day out.
Chania - a cosmopolitan city voted the most beautiful on Crete. With the White Mountains as a backdrop, its Venetian harbour, museums, fascinating indoor market & an old quarter of narrow streets packed with interesting shops, Chania offers something for most visitors. Chania is 25 kilometres away from Almirida village.
Crete has much to offer, sightseeing, archaeological sites, the lovely beaches of Falassarna, Elafonissi and Balos which are all within easy driving distance. The famous Samaria Gorge, and many other wonderful Gorges & walks in the countryside are another option.

FLIGHTS NEWS: Chania has an international airport with scheduled flights year round and abundant charter flights serving much of Europe. Low cost Flights with Ryanair from Frankfurt, Glasgow, Roma, Brussels (Charleroi), Dusseldorf, East Midlands, Leeds (Bradford), London (Stanseed), Milan, Oslo, Pisa, Paphos, Stockholm, Wroclaw etc. to Chania airport and with Easyjet from London Gatwick to Chania airport. Also Low cost Flights with Condor from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt Int, Munich, Stutgard to Chania airport. For the remainder of the winter moths it is possible to fly via Athens or Thessaloniki, with daily flights throughout the year to and from Athens operated by: AEGEAN AIRLINES to both Heraklion and Chania RYANAIR between Athens and Chania/Thessaloniki and Chania.
You can take the bus from the airport to Chania city or the taxi. Ferries sail to and from Athens (Pireas) daily - the port for ferries for Chania is at Souda, a few kilometres away. When the ferry arrives, if you manage to scamper onto the bus in time, this will take you to Chania.

CAR NOT ESSENTIAL - beach is only 10 metres walking distance. A car is only essential if you would like to explore the Island. Almyrida has everything to offer for fantastic holidays!

Another fantastic stay

Panos was at the apartment to greet us and kept in contact with us throughout our visit, to ensure everything was okay and check if there was anything we needed.This was our second visit and the apartment had been updated since our first visit, although it was still very comfortable the first time. The location was good with plenty of restaurants on your doorstep. We also visited a couple of restaurants in Plaka, which were very good and well worth the visit. I would recommend visiting the apartment and hope to return again in the future.

A spacious apartment by the sea

So pleased we chose Panos’s apartment in Almyrida for our 2-week late summer holiday. Panos was an excellent host, quick to respond to queries and suggested many places for us to visit. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped but had a slightly quirky layout. We spent a lot of time on the spacious, well-appointed terrace with brilliant views of the sea and surrounding countryside. The interior living space was great when the weather was inclement. The welcome pack provided by Panos was much appreciated and we were thrilled to have filtered water on tap! Almyrida is an excellent base to explore the surrounding villages on foot and we walked to Plaka, Gavalachori, Kalyves, Douliana and Kokkini Chorio where we had some wonderful lunches before returning to the apartment for relaxing evenings by the sea. We spent a lot of time swimming in the warm Sea before visiting many of the Tavernas on our doorstep. We were sad to leave as there was so much to do and see and hope to return in the future.

Au top !

Nous étions une famille de 5 personnes avec 3 enfants- 20-16-12. Toute la famille à l unanimité à trouver ce séjour chez Panos exceptionnel . On se sent comme à la maison ( confort , petites attentions et bienveillance de Panos ) . Une grande terrasse avec une vue incroyable ( salons de jardins , bain de soleil et même la douche ) Almerida est un petit coin formidable pour des vacances où l on déconnecte immédiatement . Restaurants à proximité . Petit supermarché . Pharmacie . Loueur de paddle, pédalos… Idéal pour passer de bonnes vacances . C est sur on reviendra . Nous étions tristes de partir ! Merci Panos

Super Lage, tolle Dachterrasse

Das Appartement liegt mitten in Almyrida und nur 10 m vom Meer entfernt. Das absolute Highlight ist die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf das Meer, Außenküche, Dusche und sehr bequemen Liegen. Die Einrichtung und die Bäder sind zwar nicht top modern, aber die Betten sind sehr gut und man hält sich auch nur zum Schlafen in den Räumen auf. Panos, der Vermieter ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend und bei kleinen Problemen sofort zur Stelle.

Perfect Location

A lovely property with everything we needed. Right in the centre of Almyrida on the sea front ,close to beaches tavernas and shops. The roof terrace is fantastic comfortable sunbeds different seating areas and beautiful views. Panos couldn't have been more helpful and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay including welcome goodies and his own olive oil. I would definitely recommend this property. Thank you Panos for being a super host!

Perfect apartment, location and hosts

All reviews of the apartment have been 5* and I can only echo that. We a family of 4 who stayed for two weeks. The apartment was perfect, clean, spacious in a central location with a lovely roof terrace that we made use of most evenings and the perfect place for a morning coffee Panos is a great host, friendly helpful and accommodating, with good commons thought-out the stay The bottle of olive oil as a leaving gift was a nice gesture. The village itself has everything you could need without feeling too much like your in a built up resort. Plenty of nice places to choose to eat and drink. The cafe underneath, Francoise is the best place for breakfast and coffee The beaches are great and never felt over crowded, would recommend to anyone. . Pear tree for fresh fruit. Pizza and pasta restaurant ignore name- for alternative to meat and potato they do a cracking seafood tagliatelle

A fabulous holiday

We had a fantastic week in this apartment. We picked up the keys from the cafe bar underneath as Panos was away however he was easily contactable and quick to answer our questions at all times. He came to see us midway through the week and at the end of our stay to check everything was ok. The property was spacious, well equipped and comfortable for our family of 4. Beach towels as well as bath towels were really appreciated. There were a few items in the fridge on arrival which were useful so we didn’t have to dash to the shops as soon as we got there and some olive oil to take home. The roof terrace was amazing and we spent lots of time enjoying the space up there. We loved Almyrida which had a family feel and had a great selection of places to eat and safe areas to swim and snorkel. We were sad to leave.

Great apartment with fantastic roof terrace

Communication with Panos was very good and he was there to meet us as arranged. He had provided us with as nice welcome pack along with a bottle of his olive oil to bring home. The apartment had everything we needed and the location with plenty of restaurants and bars on the same road. However this didn’t disturb us at all and they weren’t noisy. The roof terrace was everything we were expecting and more. I would most definitely book the apartment again. The worst part was coming home, I can honestly say I was very sad to be leaving on our last day.

Lovely seafront rooftop apartment

This is a great property. It has a seafront position and a large roof terrace meaning we spent most days (and some nights) outside watching the world go by. With 4 sunloungers, a table and chairs to dine and a sofa seating area to relax the apartment has it all. It is not overlooked either which works well. Panos greeted us at the apartment and left a lovely welcome package (great cheese!). The kitchen is well stocked and there is enough room for 4, although there was only 2 of us. Only comment would be the beds are very hard so be careful if you have a bad back - however for us morning rooftop yoga and a nice swim sorted us out! Highly recommended, thank you Panos

Wonderful Apartment

Absolutely fantastic apartment with plenty of space and an amazing roof terrace. Well equipped and comfortable. Lovely location in a quiet village but plenty of restaurants to choose from. Panos very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

You must stay here!!

We had a fabulous 7 night stay in this beautiful apartment. It was so well equipped, in a perfect location, and Panos was the ultimate host. The apartment is situated right in the middle of Almyrida and as close as you could possibly get to the sea. It had everything we needed and more and was extremely comfortable. Panos was there to greet us (and also to bid us farewell when it was time to leave) and left us with lots of essential provisions and some treats including a bottle of Raki and some of his delicious home produced Olive Oil to take home with us! He also remained in contact throughout the week, regularly checking that all was well. The view from the large sitting room window is amazing, but the icing on the cake is the amazing roof terrace where we spent a lot of our time soaking up the sun and admiring the stunning landscape. As well as sun beds and a lovely shaded seating area, there is a BBQ and kitchen so great for al fresco cooking and eating, and the outdoor shower helped to keep us cool. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we were left with spare sets of bed linen and towels. The location simply couldn't be better. The apartment is above the lovely Cafe Francoise who do great breakfasts and right next to a friendly water sports business where we hired a pedalo. Several small supermarkets are only minutes away on foot, selling everything we needed, and the local bakery was fabulous for fresh bread, delicious Greek pastries and iced coffees! Almyrida is lined with lots of lovely restaurants, we were really spoilt for choice, and most of them have first class views of the sea and even tables on the beach! The sea was so beautifully warm and clear and a real pleasure to swim in, and so safe for children as it remains shallow until quite far out. A bus runs regularly in to Chania and there is an excellent taxi business in the village, so we had no need to hire a car. Thank you Panos for a first class holiday - we can't wait to return!

Lovely apartment

Panos apartments is a fantastic place to go on holiday. Panos is very nice and thoughtful! The apartment is great with lots of space and a great rooftop balcony with a view of Almyrida. I can recommend the apartment a 100 percent!

Stunning roof terrace and views

We stayed for one week in Panos’ apartment in the village of Almyrida which had a perfectly quiet and laid-back atmosphere from 23 May. Firstly thanks to Panos for all his help in the booking stages. All questions answered timeously and he organised our transport to/from Chania Airport approx. 30 mins. Panos’ apartment is situated in the middle of the village 10 m from the beach. It was two smaller apartments very cleverly knocked into one . Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the addition of a sofa-bed and a very welcome arrival pack of bread, milk, fruit, wine, beer, croissants, tea, coffee, water. We had breakfast every morning beside a very large window which overlooked the beach restaurants and bay. The roof terrace however was simply stunning and very well designed with fantastic views over Souda bay , sun beds, a place to eat, a barbecue with sink and an outdoor shower. There was also a canopy to allow shelter from the sun if needed and we spent a lot of time there. Panos, thanks again for all your help and as I write this we are making use of the olive oil that you gave us as a parting gift. would definitely stay again if back in Crete.

A gem!

Excellent property. Great location with a very helpful host who was there on every level! Top terrace was a dream. Lovely and quiet! If back in Almyrida will definitely book with Panos! Thank you for everything.

Great Place to stay

Firstly, Panos was very helpful and gave us lots of information to make our stay perfect. The apartment is spacious and clean and has the most amazing views. The roof terrace is the icing on the cake. Views to die for, sun all day, shady places to sit in and a great place to people watch. The village has everything you need, sea, beach, shops, restaurants, bars, taxi if you need to go anywhere, but why would you? We had a great time and will be going back again.

Waren in den Osterferien da und haben die Zeit sehr genossen! Die Dachterasse ist fantastisch, großzügig und einzigartig. Und das ganze 20 Meter vom Meer entfernt! Der Vermieter war auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

very fine appartment. perfect ocean view from the panorama windows. the host panos was very friendly

3 rooms, 2 bathrooms. kitchen and livingroom. good conditions. access to private rooftop with outdoor kitchen and sundeck. with perfect view to the ocean. central Placed in almiryda city, 2 minuttes walk to the sand Beach, restaurants and bars. decent Price for 5 nights out of season. definetely worth a visit Again. best and warm recommendation to the appartment, the facilities, the area and the host Panos.
