“A beautiful historical hotel that made us feel like we were in the 1800’s. We loved the decor, the friendly staff, the restaurant and bar, the lovely town and the way we were spoiled. We highly recommend this hotel and the whole experience. It’s hard to find hospitality like this anymore!”

“The staff was great and check-in was a breeze. The room was large and serviceable, but there were stains in the carpet, the bed covering, and one of the large towels. The room was mostly clean, though, and had no ill smell…just well-used and a bit out-dated. The treadmill in the fitness center was in disrepair and there were multiple boxes of AC units being stored in there. The hospitality made this a 4/5, otherwise it was a 3/5.”

“They offer you candy when checking in. I must have looked at a different place to stay and accepted this one by mistake. Expedia had us wanting a smoking room? The room was clean but had a strange smell. It has only a space heater for heat. It is supposed to drop in the teens tonight. There is a unit in it that is supposed to be a heat/air conditioner that does not heat. Was charged $150.00 deposit incase we smoked in the room or for incidentals. Which we had no idea about! “The staff was great, I'll start with that. And this place has so much potential. The TV works. The AC works well. The actual hotel could really be very nice - some of the architecture is really cool. But it is not a place I'd book a 2nd time. I can't speculate as to why certain things are the way they are, if it's finances, the clientele, or the care/concern of the actual owners, but there are just a lot of things about this place that are lacking. “Honestly it’s a dump. I lived in this town for 20 years and had to go back recently for a short visit. The bathroom shower was awful, the shower head needed replacement the sink had a big gap against the wall, the bathroom fan was super loud, the air conditioner was also super noisy AND they made me pay a $100 deposit when we checked in for damages in the event we broke anything. LOL ”

“First at check in You have to use telephone to even check in, the lady was rude. Guess what, no ice or washing facilities. The room was really thread bare, and just rough. I booked for 2 days, however decided to leave in the afternoon before the second night. I saw a roach, I was done. locked lobby, no way in. So I left, couldn't properly check out. This place is a dump. Pay $40 more, stay at the quality inn.”

“Very nice place to stay! I wish I could have stayed longer. It was clean, the room was huge and the staff was excellent. I will definitely stay there again when coming to visit my daughter.”

“Parking sucked due to having other fuests that had big vehicles. Another iss is room service, they showed up early morning before we got up and never came back. We had to go ask for towels. ”
