Questa casa colonica con tre camere da letto, situata sul fianco di una collina e circondata da pascoli con cavalli al pascolo e bovini, è la scena perfetta per una vera fuga in montagna in questo ranch di bestiame da lavoro! Questa esclusiva casa di tronchi, costruita negli anni '40, presenta tronchi e mattoni a vista, pavimenti in legno e pietra e viste incredibili sulla White River National Forest.

L'ampia sala spaziosa, arredata con mobili d'antiquariato sudamericani, è perfetta per serate intime trascorse insieme a giocare, guardare film o rilassarsi. La sala da pranzo è luminosa con finestre di grandi dimensioni che si affacciano sulla splendida montagna e ampio patio esterno. Nei mesi più caldi, le sere passate a cenare all'aperto, facendo scaldare le s'mores nel caminetto e godervi le viste mozzafiato e le brezze di montagna sono un must!

La confortevole camera da letto principale ha un letto matrimoniale e splendide viste sulle montagne. Le camere degli ospiti sono entrambe arredate con due letti singoli, uno con bagno privato. La cucina è ben attrezzata con tutto il necessario per preparare un pasto.

Nel giro di 15 minuti di auto si è nella storica e caratteristica cittadina di Basalt con i suoi negozi unici, bar e ottimi ristoranti. Se preferisci mangiare, puoi acquistare generi alimentari presso Whole Foods o negozi di alimentari locali, a meno di 10 minuti in auto dal centro di Basalt.

Per comodità, viene fornito uno stock limitato di forniture di base per gli ospiti per iniziare il soggiorno.

Very nice stay

This is a very interesting property, beautiful inside and out, and fun to stay in. It was very comfortable for our family of 5. Very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, and communication with the management/owner was excellent. We did not have any requests or questions, as everything was well set up for a relaxing stay. The views were amazing from every room.

Charming place...BUT

This is a charming homestead with beautiful views. Check-in was good. When we arrived we immediately saw the mouse traps throughout the home with 4 dead mice trapped. Not quite the welcome you want when going to a vacation home. We then noticed all the mouse poop across the kitchen table and floors. This place has a serious mouse problem and I would suggest looking into Live Trap boxes that you place around the home. It traps multiple mice, they die from panic, and you empty them weekly. We contacted the Rental company and they asked if we could dispose of them in the garbage outside. So my husband did and the garbage outside was full. It was obvious nobody had stayed here for a while and nobody had checked/cleaned before our arrival. I then went on the hunt to find a vacuum to clean up the mouse poop. At this point for $400+ a night, this was not looking good. The beds and bathrooms were clean. We were able to keep the home cool with the box fans provided. We had a mishap with the BBQ grill where the propane hose burned up from a leak and could not use it. We hiked down to the frying pan river. It was unclear in the description how far the hike was. It is downhill and across the main road then it turns into grass as tall as my hips with no clear path where to go. From my understanding, we could fish on down the road, but it was unclear where. My husband & son did Fish the Private Pond the last night and that was the best part of the whole vacation.

A most excellent father-sons retreat.

The location was beautiful and the house had ample room to spread out enabling everyone to relax (in peace if they wished) while affording several places to come together and play games, chat, etc. Lots of windows and light made it a joy for the few days we were there. We’ll definitely get mom and the girls out there before too long to experience the home, the ranch and the Fryingpan River and valley. Lynn was awesome. She stopped over one evening to see how we were doing and answered some questions we had about the history of the ranch, and the railroad that used to exit in the valley. Lynn, the boys thought the place was awesome- we all did!

Great Place to Recharge

Ideal location up Frying Pan Rd. If you’re in need of some R&R, this is a good spot. Inside and outside was a little buggy but it’s is an old cabin on a ranch so expected it. Can’t beat the fishing.

Amazing, spacious home with great fishing access. We really enjoyed the pond area and the stretch of private water. As a family traveling with a curious toddler, we would have appreciated a heads up on the mouse traps.

Awesome place!! Need to have more toilet paper and paper towels. Not enough for four people and for a week stay. Mice were in the kitchen and the bees outside the kitchen door are heavy in numbers. One of our guest could have become very ill if stung.

A memorable week at a beautiful getaway

We had a wonderful time in Basalt! The Gregg House was an amazing place to unplug and getaway for a week. We knew beforehand that cell service was a no go and there was enough internet to stay in touch. Not a problem at all. It gave our family a chance to unwind for a week of fly fishing (24” Cutbow at around 10 lbs was the best catch of the week), reading, hiking, and amazing star gazing in a nearly dark sky. We did experience what seemed to be a 100-year rain storm with the owners and their ranch team! It was a memorable battle against the elements and we helped redirect water on their property— it was a real ranch-life feel if only for a short while. Wonderful people and vacation property! We will definitely return and look forward to making more memories! Thanks to the owners for making us feel welcome!

Lacked Common Cleanliness

My father and I stayed at Greggs House over the 4th of July weekend. We are originally from West Texas and are used to being in the country (which i really don't think this counts as because a whole foods is 20 minutes away). A day into our stay we encountered a dead bat that was stuck to a bug strip hanging from the ceiling behind the curtains (we found that they hid several bug strips in the living room as well as mouse traps). Additionally, there were hundreds of bugs stuck to these bug strips indicating real insulation issues. The manager came and removed the bat on day two after we found it. The view is picturesque but the lack of cleanliness clouded that. The house is in a good location if you want to fish the frying pan (they say the water in front of the house is fishable but its not very accessible and my dad is elderly so didn't work). By staying here you are sacrificing cleanliness and peace of mind. In what I view as the country (West Texas) we do not have bugs living in the house or Bats and working internet (which Greggs House lacks).
