The room we booked through Expedia was for one that slept 6. We arrived after a day of traveling to find that this Holiday Inn only had rooms that slept up to 5. They offered us to pay them for a second room to allow a bed for each of our party. The only other option they have was for them to give us pillows and blankets to make a bed on the floor. We were very frustrated and disappointed to have been put in this situation and not get what we had paid for, or have the Hotel take responsibility for accepting a reservation for 6 when they knew they only had rooms sleeping 5. They blamed Expedia, which I can agree they share some of the responsibility too for not having correct information. But the hotel at some point accepts and schedules the reservation from Expedia so they should flag it at that point and notify the customer so they don’t arrive to find they do not have the room they paid for. The hotel offered nothing for this mistake except for us to pay them more money for a second room. To make matters worse the 5th bed was a pull-out from a love seat and it was a lumpy compressed mattress that was terrible to sleep on. I took a photo of it, it was so bad. We have been to other Holiday Inns before with no issues. So this was very surprising and disappointing to encounter on our trip. It speaks to the companies lack of customer care for them to not take responsibility for this mistake and rectify it.
