“Room was okay but small. The mattress was amazingly comfortable albeit the wooden bed frame was a little creaky. The walls are paper thin and the doors closing and opening extremely noisy so not as restful a break as the location demands”

“we were put in a top floor room in the school masters house which unfortunately was closest to the main room which could noisy at times. Breakfast was good altho there seem better options on Saturday than Friday eg Fresh fruit/fruit salad. Staff in the Breakfast Room were attentive and worked were hard ”

“The property was great. My party really enjoyed it. The only issue is that it was very cold when we arrived. I would suggest in winter having the heat on several hours prior to guest arrival. Otherwise, a great experience. ”

“Abbots Mead is a real find, excellent value for money in a central location to explore Shrewsbury on foot. The bedroom was small but clean and nicely presented. The bathroom was a little cramped but was clean and functional. All the staff that we met were friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel. “The bar downstairs is fun, noisy & lively. The bedrooms right above are the same. So if you don’t want a DJ in your bedroom until midnight, stay elsewhere. They provide ear plugs in the rooms, so draw your own conclusion. The breakfast was nice k the location was great, very central.”

“I booked this room for one night with my two young children to attend a sporting event nearby. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and above a very noisy pub. The room itself is very basic which was fine for our one night stay and we appreciate there is little to be done about the outside noise however the window was broken we had to wedge it shut, this didnt help with the noise volume.
