Stylish pet friendly Cotswold holiday cottage - Smuggsbarn Cottage

Smuggsbarn Cottage is a beautifully styled Grade II listed Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps 6+2 guests, in three comfortable bedrooms, with the +2 option being a double sofa bed in the snug, with two contemporary bathrooms. This cottage has been tastefully renovated to blend the charming late 18th century original features of the English beech wooden beams and striking Cotswold stone inglenook fireplace, with modern decor and amenities. With ample living space downstairs, including the cosy snug and abundant storage in both the kitchen and the boot room, Smuggsbarn Cottage is a real home away from home with plenty of space for the whole group to relax. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, down to a dog showering area for those muddy walks, creating a wonderful property for groups to escape to the country with your four legged friend!

This three bedroom holiday cottage in Chedworth is perfectly suited for those looking to get together with family and friends, exploring the local countryside and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

Ground Floor

Sitting room
Original beechwood beams, inglenook stone fireplace with wood burner, two-seater sofa, three-seater sofa, armchair, desk area with chair, and Smart TV with Netflix (account holders only)

Snug (Sleeps +2)
Double sofa bed (available on request), decorative fireplace, Wii games console and Smart TV with Netflix (account holders only)

Kitchen/dining room
Kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, Rangemaster electric oven, electric induction hob and dining table seating eight

Family bathroom
Bath with shower attachment, loo and basin

Boot room
Bench with storage, coat hooks, iron, ironing board, clothes airer, washing machine/tumble dryer, freezer and dog showering station
Can be accessed directly via the side gate

First Floor

Principal bedroom (Sleeps 2)
Super king size bed, half-height cupboard, built-in wardrobe, armchair, hairdryer and window seat with views of the front garden
This bedroom can either be accessed via steep stone stairs directly from the sitting room or via a door from bedroom 2

Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2)
Two single beds (can be super king size bed on request), chest of drawers, hanging rail, mirror, decorative feature fireplace, armchair, hairdryer and window seat with views of the front garden

Bedroom 3 (Sleeps 2)
King size bed, freestanding wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table with mirror, hairdryer and armchair

Shower, loo and basin

Fully enclosed back garden with patio, outdoor table seating six, two chairs, bench, steps down to lawn area and charcoal BBQ (available April to September)

The maximum occupancy for this property is 8 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 3 additional infants (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic)
Off street parking is available for up to 2 cars, additional parking is available at the village hall a short walk away
1 travel cot, 1 highchair, 1 toddler Tripp Trapp chair and 2 stair gates are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) 
2 medium sized dogs are welcome for an additional £40 per booking per dog. For pet rules, please visit our FAQs

Smuggsbarn Cottage is a period property with sloping ceilings, low beams in places and steps between rooms
Please note that the principal bedroom can be accessed directly from the sitting room, with no door separating the spaces (these stairs are especially steep, though a bannister on one side is provided)
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property

Hen and Stag parties are not permitted, though other same sex groups can enquire
Events are not permitted without prior consent
A security deposit is required at this property
Check in is from 17:00 and check out is by 10:00

Nice home for your Cotswolds visit

I am originally from Chedworth, so it’s worth noting that I knew where I would be staying. We loved the house for our week long stay. It worked really well for a family of four, the WiFi was excellent, two guest rooms helped for the kids and they also had the garden to play in. It’s also very close to the village hall and their playing fields. We will stay here again on our next trip…
