“Lovely room, clean with plenty of space. Very comfortable bed and everything provided that you would need. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This was despite the fact that they were dealing with flooding outside the pub following a storm.”

“There are not many places to stay in Wimborne. This is probably the best. Don’t expect elevators or lots of modern conveniences here. This is a 16th century hotel with narrow staircases and our room had beamed ceilings and a copper bathtub. What is great is that it is right in the won center and has enough free and secure parking so you don’t need to use a public carpark.”

“Booked an overnight stay and dinner for my birthday. Perfect location for a stroll around Shaftesbury with parking, but we booked because of the hotel restaurant. Room was clean, cosy and comfortable, the hotel had character. The restaurant was excellent, with faultless service from the time we spent in the bar deciding on our choices to coffee and petit fours there after dinner. Great food and very good value. My venison was excellent and the wine of the month a great recommendation....

“stayed for 1 week bed & breakfast. Checked in OK. Room size OK, but overlooking car-park with main road 50 metres away. Room furnished with freestanding pine double wardrobe accommodating full-sized ironing board, electric iron and hairdryer. space divided into 2, left side fore and aft clothes hanging rail (6 hangers),right side 3 shelves 2 drawers. The wardrobe double doors warped, difficult to open & close making loud squealing noise! the drawers were off their broken runners and operated...

“The property was ideally situated for the local shops. Everything we needed was contained within the property and we were extremely comfortable. The parking was a bit tricky but once used to it or was fine. There is scaffolding on the next door building which was the main cause. There was no Internet but I have my own provider so it didn't impact on me, however the pub has wifi next door and upstairs you can pick up the boots wifi!”
