We love this hotel and visit it as much as we can. When we go during the week we find it very quiet which is one the reasons we go. The room is always perfect and comfortable. The housekeepers will always accommodate you if you need something extra.
We love the staff and since we go there so often they have become “friends”. It’s amazing that Abraham in the restaurant/bar always brings us our beverages from memory even after not seeing him for months. Then there is Hugo and Will that make eating there a great experience.
The front desk girls are kind and have a friendly greeting for you when you arrive. We just met Toni and Cora this trip.
If you want to know something interesting about the original hotel that was on the property look up Villa Venice and see an interesting story about the 20’s. Geoffrey Baer is also a source about Villa Venice. In the bar there is a picture of the Rat Pack who performed there then.
First check out the story and when you stay there go on the walking path around the hotel that is next to the Des Plaines river and look for a gray plaque in the ground. I think you will be surprised.
