Vega lake Retreat - a unique mountain escape with all four seasons!

Home is nestled on the east end of Vega Lake State park. We will easily accommodate 15 persons in the house. If you have a larger group, please message me, we also have a cabin , RV spots available and an historic sheep camp available for use

Home has a Master bedroom with a King bed, Loft area with 2 twin beds and a full size bed, upstairs bedroom has two queen beds, living room has two (queen size) sleeper sofas, a newly renovated game room with a queen size sleeper sofa and cabin has a queen size bed. 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, hot tub over looking the lake and views to die for.
We have (2) kayakes on site for your use.


We have satellite based internet- it will stream one devise.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS:

(2) RV hook up’s with water and 20 amp service. $25 per night charge

1 Cabin with a full size bed - $75 per night charge

1 Sheep Camp with cook stove and full size bed - $75 per night (this is an actual 120 year old early settlers camp wagon, fully restored and ready for your stay.
Studio apartment recently renovated. Upstairs (above the garage) full size bed, twin bed, full kitchen and full bathroom- $100.00 per night
If your wanting to host an event - we can help!

Local attractions:
1) Vega Lake - property borders it.
2) Vega lodge - 5 minutes
3) Grand Mesa National Forrest- 10 minutes.
4) Base camp for hunting , fishing , biking
5) Biking, Boating, kayaking, and much more.
6) Ride your snowmobile from the house to access thousands of acres of Forrest service.

The property is just like the pictures. Most of our group was from Oklahoma City (we drove up) but some were visiting from Mexico and we all wanted to play with the snow. Absolutely blissful

This place felt so private. We were so comfortable in a well maintained home, while also feeling like we were camping in the middle of nowhere. Hosts were responsive and friendly. Also there were more beds than we expected with the pull out couches! So happy with our experience and would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful cabin not to far from home but in the mountains with great views. Enjoyed our family holiday hanging out on the deck and building a campfire to ring in the New Year with local firework show. Hope to revisit in future.

Such a beautiful place to stay

Amazing Stay!

My friends and i rented this place for their wedding, and we had a blast. Property was absolutely beautiful, clean, and cozy. Views from the jacuzzi were breathtaking. Spacious rooms, game room, and host was quickly responsive. Would highly recommend!!

Family time

This was a very accommodating home! Has everything you can imagine! Plenty of bedding for all our guests! Beautiful deck to enjoy your morning coffee or evening sunset with a glass of wine! Fabulous views

There were Fabulous views from porch, great time viewing night sky and seeing an awesome shooting star! Sadly, while we were there, the hot tub was unusable because of algae and unclean. We tried contacting property owner, but we were unable to get it rectified during visit. Spacious accommodation, but kitchen could be better accessorized. Thank you for letting us stay.

Great getaway spot

Be warned, while Colbran is only 20 or so miles away it is a lot of roads with slow speed limits, so it does take a while to drive to town. That said, this is a gorgeous location! The house is nice and had plenty of towels and blankets for everyone. Lots of cows nearby, and this trip had the most wildlife I'd ever seen. Deer, mountain goats, rabbits, and foxes! With the wildflower fields nearby, I could not have imagined a better place to elope.

Wedding celebration

Oversea friendships developed online during the pandemic met to celebrate a wedding. This place offered the space indoor and out for celebration, wedding ceremony and gorgeous views. Kitchen well stocked for a lot of cooking. Appreciated the availability of all the extra sleeping space.

Great lake home

We were visiting Vega for a family wedding and also celebrating our wedding anniversary. The directions to get to the property were easy to follow (dont trust Google maps to get you to the reservoir though - it wanted to route us the very scenic back way). The location of the home is perfect - away from any other homes and noises with great views out every window. The beds were comfortable and we both slept well. Our only complaint was the cleanliness of the home. When we arrived, there were giant chunks of hair and dust all over the floors, which i had to vacuum up before we even got unpacked. The fridge and microwave did not appear to have been cleaned in quite a long time and the kitchen counters and sink had crumbs scattered all around. The house just seemed like it could use a very thorough deep clean as the window sills and furniture were very dusty with dead bugs around. The property manager was very quick to answer our calls and questions and offered to rectify the cleanliness complaint, however we declined and just tried to clean what we could to make us more comfortable. Overall we had a great stay and will likely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Great Location and Size

Very nice property with room to expand for larger groups. The location and facilities were nice. The only downside to our specific visit was that it didn't seem like the house had been sweept/vacuumed/dusted in a while. We visited in the fall and there were a lot of dead bugs/flies along edges and in fixtures, along windows, etc. Also, there was a nice dart board, with no darts.

Beautiful Location

My new wife and I chose this location the get married and boy oh boy was it amazing! The property was absolutely beautiful!!! The house had plenty of room to hold all of our wedding party and get ready. The owners were quick to help us when we ran out of water. There were quite a few dead flies in the window sills and in the cabin but that was the only downside of the entire weekend and not the easiest thing to control. We appreciate you guys so much and are so happy glad we had an amazing place to have the most important day of our lives. We are so happy that we have a place to come back to on our anniversary’s and really just to come back with our friends.

The views are incredible… seriously

Bedrooms are awesome. Kitchen well stocked. Dining areas awesome and we sat around the fire pit outside both nights… great for samores. Great place to get away. Great retreat.

If Heaven on Earth Exists-- THIS IS IT!!

We were absolutely thrilled with the property and the owners/management. The view was awesome from every single spot on the property. A lake to the west, surruounded by mountains and lush green hills. Not a sound but the cows and birds in the background. No traffic. Other people. Nothing. Just the beauty of nature on a place that was comfortable, easy to access, clean and simply WONDERFUL. My adult kids are already planning to rent this again next year! It's that awesome! Also the property manager was so helpful and checked in on us a few times during our week stay. Kaleb the owner was on vacation when I'd called prior to visiting and he answered his phone while on vacation in another country! If that's not excellent customer service, I don't know what is! The house was so clean and amazingly efficient in all we needed for a week with 10+ people! Thank you so much for giving us a place to make such beautiful memories!
