Florissant is a small mountain town west of Colorado Springs and just south of Woodland Park. Quiet, forested, mostly locals and the occasional elk crossing the road. Close enough to grab dinner or groceries in town, far enough that what you hear at night is wind in the pines.

Pine forest, big sky, and enough space between neighbors to actually slow down. Good for couples who want quiet over nightlife.



🛣 Paved almost the entire way in. The last 600 yards are unpaved.



❄️ A regular car is fine in summer. In winter (about October through May) AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended, as it is across the Colorado mountains. The final stretch can get snow-packed.

🛒 Nearest grocery and dining is Divide (~12 min) or Woodland Park (~25 min) on US-24.



✈️ Colorado Springs Airport about 1 hr 5 min. Denver International about 2 hrs.



A few honest things so there are no surprises:



🛣 Road noise. The cabin sits close to the road for easy access, so you'll hear cars pass now and then. We leave a sound machine, a record player, and a Bluetooth soundbar so your evenings in stay quiet and easy.



🚰 Well water at 9,000 ft. The cabin runs on a well, so go easy on water in the shower. Space showers out, and if the water ever runs low, wait about 20 minutes and it comes right back. Normal up here.



🏔 Elevation. You're at roughly 9,000 ft. Drink extra water, take the first day slow, and expect mountain weather to flip fast. Bring layers even in summer.



🚗 The last 600 yards. Paved almost the entire way in. The final stretch is unpaved. In winter (roughly October through May) AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended, like most of the Colorado high country.



🪜 Loft bedroom. The queen sits up in the A-frame loft, reached by [ladder stairs / a staircase — confirm]. Check the photos before booking if stairs are a concern.



📶 Connectivity. Starlink WiFi is solid. Cell service is hit or miss depending on carrier, so plan to lean on the WiFi.



🐻 Wildlife country. Deer, the occasional bear or mountain lion, and a lot of birds live here too. Don't leave food or trash out, and keep the dog close at dawn and dusk.



📷 Cameras. Exterior security cameras at the entry only. None inside.



🥂 Adults only, 2 guests max, no exceptions. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome, just mention them in your booking request.
