“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy well apportioned steps to bed room not good for disabled person or any one with mobility problems main stairs ok. bar and lounge well laid out. Breakfast room an orangery to rear lovely all furniture English oak including stairs in bed rooms in-bar area etc food excellent”

“From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own and the staff were more than helpful as to where to visit . The food was varied and excellent. Breakfast was basic continental but didn’t want any more.
