Portico Verde private Villa with pool | Corfu

This summer escape near the beach and the town of Lefkimi, was designed by the architect owner, who wished to recreate his best Corfu memories from childhood.
When we designed Portico Verde Villa near Lefkimi, (our favorite part of Corfu island), we had in mind our childhood’s summers in the village. We wanted that innocence and harmony, back. And we made it!
Now, we are sharing this beautiful 2-floor villa that accommodates 8-10 guests in 3 large bedrooms and all its facilities with you - and we are really excited about it! The garden with the orange trees, the big pool and the BBQ with the large dining table, offer the ideal outdoor living!

As you walk in from the main entrance you see the living room with a fireplace and the kitchen in a separate room behind the staircase. All is bright and open, chic and classy. As you turn to the corridor behind the white staircase, you find the two ground floor bedrooms. The blue one with its ensuit bathroom and shower and the red one which is 40 sq.m and has an extra cobblestone room with one more sofa bed, that makes it ideal for a couple with a child. Right next to it, the big bathroom with a buthtub serves the red bedroom.
On the upperfloor you will find the master bedroom which is a 60 sq.m open space! Like an airy white loft with private veranda overlooking the whole estate and the pool, the master bedroom has a king size bed, a design bathtub in the room, a fireplace, two extra single beds and a baby cot that can sleep the children, a seperate bathroom with shower and beautiful decoration... All bathrooms are made of marble. No tiles have been used anywhere.
Now, Outside the kitchen and the living room, there is a stone table for your breakfast or your afternoon cocktails! Then, as you walk to the left, you meet the BBQ area. H huge hand made stone BBQ and a large table for 15 people, all protected by the sun or the wind, are the reasons to spend half of your day out of the house with your friends or family. You can cook and taste the fresh vegies from the garden, the local meat and fish and enjoy real mediterannean cuisine! Last but not at all eat, comes the swimming pool, on the other edge of the estate, with its pool bed.... What a shelter.... You need to be here to realize the feeling of taking a nap on this bed. The orange grove with the sweet smell and the bees flying make a dreamy combination....

Via Lefkimi town, by taking the road to Alykes, you will find Portico Verde just 900 from the village and another 800 before the beach. The access and the proximity to taverns, beaches, super markets is easy and the distances are all from 2 to 10 minutes by car. Even the beaches on the Adriatic side of Corfu are just 9 km away!

Sometimes, one of us will be descreetly near you staying at the red small garden house so that you have immediate response to anything you need and cleaning service every week.

The Location
The location is ideal, as the south of Corfu is the best part of the island! Even famous Kavos village with the wild night life is just 10 km from here.
In Corfu you don’t need to stay at the capital, but you will definitely visit it sometimes.
On the contrary you have to explore the southern part which brings in mind the ideal Mediterranean sceneries of old postcards. 40 km from the capital and the airport, Lefkimmi is a town of southern Corfu, actually a combination of traditional villages Rigglades, Anaplades, Agii Theodori, Potami and Melikia. Each of them has its own important history and well worth exploration. Alykes, our neighborhood, is a famous wetland in a peninsula of 2000 acres in NATURA region, where flamingos and all kinds of migratory birds gather together.

The combination of the lagoon, the Cedar forest and the greatest beaches of the Ionian Sea, offer a unique landscape!
Just in case you feel like partying, you are a few minutes away from the famous touristic area of Kavos, where the parties never stop….
Exotic dunes that bring in mind the vastness of the desert, forgotten in time villages, unique landscapes and the greatest beaches can be found in Lefkimmi.

Lefkimi has a sui generis character, the cedar forest, the largest sandy beach you come across and leads to the ... Sahara.
Life in Lefkimi rolls slowly in endless vineyards, dunes and the cedar forest of lake Korission, Arkoudilas’ forest, the lighthouse and the salt pans which date from the 15th century. You will be amazed of the almost immovable, turquoise waters of the lake, separates from the always impressive turquoise Ionian only a narrow strip of land.
The wetland is home to more than one hundred and twenty different species of birds, while regular visitors are impressive cormorants and flamingos.
Except from birdwatching, you can follow the road that passes between the lake and the beach of Halikounas, for an unforgettable dive. Crossing it, go through the looking glass, in a magnificent cedar forest. You will end up at the north end of the beach of St. George.
The vast seashore of ten kilometers total length, with sand dunes and shallow, crystal clear waters, is one of the highlights of your trip.
While visiting Lefkimi’s beaches you will experience diving and sunbathing privé. If you choose the center of the beach, you will find the village, for beach and water sports, diving, listening to great music and drinking colorful cocktails from the beach bars to the frame.

There is a local bus to and from lefkimi to Alykes and from Lefkimi you can take a bus to Corfu town and all the villages on the way. Although everything is in walking distance if you want to explore the south of Corfu you will need a car, as the island is big!
