This is our third time staying at the property for a week or more. When we opened the door on this visit, it was almost like returning home. We come to visit our (grand)children in North Texas and love historic downtown McKinney. Our hosts, Kathy and Sayres have become our friends and we look forward to seeing them as much. They are wonderful hosts that you are going to want to introduce to your friends. We start our visit with coffee and croissants at Collective Coffee, a short walk downtown and brought our family to the Yard for great smashburgers and of course, Hutchins, for the best BBQ in North Texas. Kathy and Sayres recommended Centro on the Square and it is a new favourite. The location is very accessible to all of North Texas shopping, venues and attractions. The home is very comfortable and has all the amenities. It is beautiful inside and out with every amenity and many thoughtful touches throughout. We had a great visit and cannot wait to come back again. If we could give it a 10 stars out of 5 we would!

Beautiful home and wonderful hosts! Communication with Kathy was very easy and Sayres even stopped by our first night with a welcome basket of fruit. Everything was just as described in the listing. We would definitely love to say here again!

Very cute. The location is on the edge of downtown McKinney. Kids loved the back yard. I did find a previous guest’s dirty sock and hair in the bathroom, but it seemed very clean otherwise.

Beautiful little home. It had all the amenities we needed and wanted. Hosts were amazing, if we needed anything they were right there to help. We had a great little get together with my husbands brother and sister. It was great to be able to just sit around and reminisce and enjoy each others company. Thank you for such a wonderful 3 days.

This is truly a luxury home. The property is even prettier than depicted in the photos. The decor is fabulous, it's super clean, and it smells good too! The Kitchen is stocked with everything you need for preparing gourmet meals; seriously. The land scamping and the grounds are professionally maintained, immaculate, and absolutely beautiful. The back yard has destination areas that include garden art statuary(very tastefully done), a separate firepit seating area, BBQ area, and a cozy back porch complete with seating and a bistro area for two. We were so pleasantly surprised. Kathy goes above and beyond to make sure your stay at the Dwelling Place is everything you could hope for and more. We asked for special provisions upon our arrival, and no problem. Kathy made sure our request was fulfilled, and she even provided more than we asked for. Can't say enough good things about this property and its host. Truly a Premiere Verbo property. We would definitely stay here again! Our only regret is that we booked a short stay in this jewel of a cottage. We all wished we could have stayed longer.

This is our second visit to the Dwelling Place. We visited last Thanksgiving and knew we would be back! McKinney is a wonderful place and the Dwelling Place is within walking distance of all locations; coffee shops, restaurants, shopping and attractions. It is literally in the middle of North Dallas and all roads lead to its location.We had a wonderful visit in August. Everything was green and growing, with flowers blooming. We could spend more time on the porch for morning coffee and evening chats around the fire pit.Most importantly, it gave us another chance to get to know our hosts a little better. They are very involved in the community and want everyone to share their love for McKinney. We followed up on many of their suggestions and enjoyed them all.Check-in is easy. The luxury accommodations made us comfortable and prepared for a new day. The kitchen is state-of-the-art and the laundry is remarkable. No detail is overlooked. We highly recommend The Dwelling Place to anyone who wants to get away from city/suburban bustle and go back to a simpler life and time! Thanks Kathy and Sayers!

So Quaint and Cozy!

Literally so happy to have found this house to stay at during our weekend getaway! Everything from the booking process to location and check-ins from the property owner were all on point. The house had everything you could possibly need/want. We have zero complaints! It was such a nice experience in every way. We will use this listing many more times to come!

We only needed one night this time around. My husband was having surgery @ Baylor Dallas and we had to be there @ 5:00 am this morning. We wanted to cut out some driving time plus coming threw construction at night is hard for me. So it was safer to come in closer to leave that early. Kathy made sure we were able to do just that. I just love her hospitality and friendlyness. She even prayed for my husband and our safety. We will never forget what she done for us and, it was more than she knew. It was still comfortable as the first time we came and I'm sure it won't be the last. God bless Kathy and her Family.

Beautiful home near historic McKinney

My daughter, two grandchildren and I stayed in this beautiful home and enjoyed the quaint historic town. The home was well appointed and all the details have been handled and taken care of. The street was super quiet and we especially enjoyed the front porch swing. Communication with the host was efficient and responsive. We would love to stay here again.

The Dwelling Place

We came into town for a golf tournament and chose the Dwelling Place for our stay. It’s a very lovely beautiful home. Enjoyed my coffee on the back porch in the mornings. Comfy beds. Great hosts.
