If you're going to Damascus to ride/walk the Virginia Creeper Trail, and are on a budget, this is a great place to stay. The guest host was quick to respond and generous in letting us check in a little early, and the house was good in spite of being quite old.Trail access is in the back yard of the home and there are several bike outfitters within a block or two. We went with the closest, Sundog Outfitters, which was very accommodating and had lots of products to enhance your trip.Getting back to the house; the kitchen was well equipped, the washer and dryer, microwave, fridge, TV, AC, and internet all worked well. The bed and pillows were good, though the comforter on the bed was too much. You either had to crank the AC way down or just sleep under the sheet: I think that comforter would keep you warm in an Arctic igloo. The shower was ok, plenty of hot water, but no light so don't try to shave in there. The bathroom sink had so little pressure it was hard to rince your hands, and this is the first VRBO I've ever stayed in with NO bath soap! What?!?The neighbors were less than friendly, working to load an unmufflered truck into a trailer at 11:30pm, but that was surely a one-off experience. And the TP was very good.
