A jewel in Dar es Salaam
We loved White Sands Resort. We were six people in two one-bedroom apartments with a connecting door, just perfect for us. The kitchens were convenient, however one was not stocked at all and the other just had a few plates and a couple of forks and spoons. We didn't plan to do much cooking so didn't say anything about it, but probably the staff would have responded had we asked. Otherwise, the stay was perfect with excellent air conditioning and two pools plus lovely beach walks to choose from. Breakfast buffet was remarkable and got us started each day!

+ Utrolig vakker beliggenhet. Alle rom har balkong og sjøutsikt. Nydelig mat. - Ekstremt mye søppel på stranda. Og så mye skitt og søppel i sjøen at jeg tror det er farlig å bade der. Veldig trist på et så vakkert sted.

Schöne Location mit schmutzigen Zimmern
Gut: große Auswahl beim Frühstück und lecker. Auch Service immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Schöner Pool Bereich. Schlecht: Strand schmutzig, es wurde aber versucht diesen sauber zu halten. Sehr schlecht: die Zimmer. Schmutzige Bettwäsche, die Flecken hatte. Dazu Kakerlaken, die Nachts über das Bett gewandert sind. Kein Spaß! Mussten das erst der Rezeption verdeutlichen, dass das so gar nicht geht. Alles in allem hat sich das Hotel über die letzten Jahre leider deutlich verschlechtert.

The property had many changes since I was last there and it looked fantastic and very trendy and homely. The room was good but we never managed to get a hot shower. Staff were all very friendly, but other than breakfast the food really wasn’t great and very slow service. It’s a shame that these things let the hotel down as they could easily be rectified.

Very beautiful location, friendly staff, and great amenities. Above all, when my flight was rescheduled from midday to 8 pm they had no qualms about extending my stay at no cost to 6 pm. Super friendly!

Staff is amazing , deepak the food manager is amazing. White sands has boats to the island but they take your money and leave you there 2 days in a row the boat man did that I had to come with another resort boat . There was cockroaches all over the bathroom the more you clean it the more roaches come . White sands was my favourite resort now it’s run down , they advertise a spa when we booked a massage the spa employees did not show and it was out last night in dar es Salam , the owner tried to tell us to pay for transport for another massage therapist to come . I’m sorry because your staff does not show up why should we pay the transport . White sands definitely needs upper management to get involved with thease issues . It’s become a local resort now. But it’s very upsetting that the boat leaves you stranded on the island . It’s even more embarrassing begging another resort to let you in to walk 10 mins on the road to get back to white sands as you can not walk on the beach . The room was also very damp and moist my fiancé and I have been bit by ants in the room . The more the cleaner cleaned the more they came . They did offer us an upgrade but I preferred not to take it in order to let others know. I used ti brag to everyone to end a trip in dar es Salam you have to go white sands for peace and the islands but now it’s just a run down hotel should be a 2 star

Very relaxing but a bit off the track
A wonderful and relaxing place in good condition right at the sea. It‘s a nice resort and I recommend to book at least a Studio room. The regular rooms are a bit too simple. The hotel is quite far away from the action so it‘s mainly good to relax. The whole resort is very well maintained and makes you feel really comfortable. The pool is nice and there is good space to sit on the beach too. Good to watch sunrise, wrong side to watch the sunset. The gym is quite large but hot since most of the time they just open the windows instead of the A/C. Would go there again but preferably with the girlfriend, not solo.

False Advertising
Booked and paid for a one bedroom apartment sea view for 3 person stay and upon check in was told there were no apartments and was put in a standard room. Manager stated this happens because I made the booking on separate website, many in lobby had same problem, I was not given a discount or anything for the impractical inconvenience and it was actually suggested that it was my fault and not the hotels for the false advertisement and incorrect booking.

Mucho potencial, servicio deficiente
El hotel tiene mucho potencial, con gran zona verde, buena zona de playa y habitaciones mirando al mar. Sin embargo, el servicio es muy malo. Quitando al entrenador personal, que era muy amable y eficiente, el resto deambula por las instalaciones con cara de cansancio. Les pides algo y no entienden lo que quieres, tardan en servirte, las chapas de la cerveza las tiran a la arena, sirven en vasos de plástico barato, cuando llegue en el retrete no se había terminado de tirar la cadena, no repusieron el champú hasta que se lo pedí, la comida del restaurante, además de carísima, de mala calidad, etc. Cuando estás en las tumbonas de la playa, con marea baja, llega olor a aguas fecales...y la arena no está realmente limpia. El fin de semana viene cantidad de gente local a la piscina, y la piscina que es solo para residentes es más bien pequeña... En definitiva, por localización, tamaño del hotel y habitación y zonas verdes, el hotel está muy bien. Por el servicio, calidad de comida y precio, no es nada recomendable.

Goed: Ligging, met eigen strand, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Kamers wat gedateerd, maar verder OK. Van de vijf dagen verblijf slechts 1 dag met warm water kunnen douchen.

Flot og hyggeligt sted. God service og venligt personale. Gode værelser med altan og havudsigt. Kunne have været rart med mulighed for 2 enkeltdyner på dobbeltseng i stedet for dobbeltdyne.
