“2 star room adequate for budget stay. Owner sits in community area with bare feet on coffee table. Dirty fly swatter on lobby sofa. Breakfast is very basic. No oatmeal. Staff advised pool will never be reopened.”

“We booked a cabin for 5 days, upon arrival, apparently our cabin was double booked. So Bryan upgraded us to one of the duplexes that had 2 cabins with ajoining door. It was very nice and updated plenty of places to sleep. We also rented a pontoon. One of the days was very windy, so we did not take the pontoon out, and he comped us one of the days we reserved the pontoon for that was very nice to do. Overall, everything was good. “I plan to stay here again. My wife and I take a drive every year to see the fall colors. My opinion, this is the only place to stay in Bemidji. Fact is, now I look to stay at Hilton Double Tree locations wherever we travel to. (stayed at one in Denver this past June. Would have stayed at one in Canada in Sep if I could have found one) I'm sold on the quality and service. The Bemidji staff are WONDERFUL. (great b-fast also)”

“This cabin is an absolute must visit! We stayed for two nights and it was the perfect place to return to after a long day of fishing, hiking, and exploring at Itasca. The rental was clean and exactly as described online. There were enough tools and space in the cabin for us to comfortably make pizzas, enjoy some wine, and prep food for our outings. The bathhouse being a short walk from the cabin was no issue at all, and the Black Lantern Resort was very well-kept in general. The host called us...

“The location is perfect for someone who wants to be near the park. The rooms were clean, and the linens and towels were in great condition. The only negative side to the room was that the bathroom door seemed to need to be rehung, as it was off of square and was difficult to open or close. Otherwise, this was a delightful stay.”
