There was no on there to welcome us and they hadn’t sent us the door code so I had to phone twice before someone would pick up and then had to wait for the owner to arrive to let us in, not ideal after a long journey. We had a garden room - which had thread bare carpets with stains on, the most uncomfortable bed imaginable and it just felt dirty. “The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings and we were lucky to be given a stone cottage apartment with outside decking overlooking the pond and grounds. Beautiful! The staff were all very pleasant but overstretched and and quite stressed at times. Breakfast was good but didn't run smoothly. “This was the very best hotel and staff. The room was lovely. Staff were friendly, and they couldn't do enough for you. They would do anything in their power to make your stay a pleasurable experience. I would strongly recommend the stay, with the Marina literally two minutes away, and the town center a 10 minute walk away. My only problem was the food.
