Cabin at Vallecito Lake with Hot Tub!

Make sweet memories at this unique, family-friendly place. The 2-bedroom "Pond Cabin" sits in the heart of Vallecito. The property is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful mountains with your family. The cabin is fully furnished and stocked with all kitchen supplies for cooking, 100% cotton linens, and paper products (paper towels, trash bags, TP, Kleenex). As a side note, we only use clean cleaning products. No harmful chemicals here.

The cabin has a great front porch to relax and enjoy your favorite beverage, hot tub or enjoy the fire pit in the evening under the big, starry sky. The pond is stocked with trout (fish food is provided to feed them, its really fun), and there is a creek on the property, too.


Vallecito is a great location to enjoy all types of mountain activities, including horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, paddleboarding, ATV rentals, restaurants, live music, and hiking. Durango is only a 40-minute drive.

It was nice but unable to enjoy hot tub and outdoors. Another person living in a camping in a tent right across on property. Would have liked to have known prior to staying. Made it uncomfortable and it’s right on the property. They cross over to get to tent 😢

Perfect getaway

This was a great place. We enjoyed feeding the fish. The hot tub was perfect to relax and enjoy the night sky. The cabin itself was very comfy, clean and fully stocked. I didnt want to leave .

Rustic Hideaway

We were in Durango for an event for our son and decided to spend our time away from the hustle and bustle of a town. We found this hideaway that was simple but overflowed with the tranquility we were in much need of. The cabin is quaint with all the amenities required to stay without leaving. Shawn ensured the house was fully stocked and upon leaving checked with us to ensure our stay was satisfactory. Definitely a return stay. Beautiful area.

Disappointed

Nice, clean cabin and a great setting, but has a few problems that we feel should be addressed. There is no TV service there is no Wi-Fi service. There is no microwave. There is a stocked trout pond that you cannot fish in and there is no exhaust on the propane stove oven in the kitchen

Quiet little cabin by the pond

Perfect nature therapy getaway

What a beautiful piece of property! Quiet, peaceful, surrounded by giant trees, the pond and river nearby and gorgeous NATURE! We really enjoyed feeding the pond trout a couple of times a day. Cute little clean cabin that is comfortable and has pretty views from every window. The hot tub was so nice each night-- perfect way to end each day. Shawn was quick to help in any way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The neighborhood animals were a plus for us. Lucy is a sweetheart :)

Perfect getaway!

Cabin Getaway

Cabin has everything you need- nothing like a nice kitchen for a home made meal, a good clean shower, and a comfy bed- after spending several days in the mountains. Hot tub was a great perk for sore muscles! Shawn was very helpful with directions and some notes on how to be set up well upon your arrival. They also have beautiful trout in the pond that they provide food to feed them with, my wife and I loved going out in the mornings and dinner time to do that!!

Great stay for families

This was perfect for our time between camping locations. The cabin was pleasant and the pond with boats gave my kids a chance to play outside while taking a break from our more adventurous camping locations. Sean was a fantastic host and we were sad to leave.

A beautiful little cabin on a perfect little property!

Our stay was fabulous! It’s quiet and serene and perfect for two for a little getaway to regroup and refresh the soul! Shawn and his family met all our needs onsite and were truly splendid hosts!! The upgrades they continue to make to this little piece of heaven will be fabulous for years to come!! ❤️

Excellent overall experience

Before check in the owner gave a detailed list about the property and what to expect. Everything was just like described. Easy check in. This property was above and beyond expectations. There was so much to do if you were just going to stay and hang out at the cabin. From relaxing in the hot tub to canoeing/paddle boarding, swimming, feeding the fish, hanging out by the camp fire, a variety of books to read, games and more this property was amazing and just minutes from the lake to go fishing and multiple spots to go hiking. I would rent this property again!

Perfect little getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We loved feeding the fish in the little pond, as well as making a small fire in the firepit each night to enjoy some time out under the stars. The king size bed was very comfortable and we had all the utensils and cookware needed to make a nice meal there as well. The hot tub on the deck was very nice as well! Water pressure left a little to be desired, but that's to be expected when your water source is a well. Outside of that, we had no complaints. This cabin is perfect for the couple (or family) who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet time together. Thanks Shawn for a great couple of days of peace and quiet!
