“Off street parking very easy. Hotel and room very nice. However the issues are a steep flight of stairs to get up to the first floor room. The shower is an overhead rain type over bath & not too good for older guests. The shower was difficult to get in and out of and the bath floor very slippery and quite risky for elderly guests. ”

The staff are so lovely and the rooms are always in impeccable condition with a wide variety of ammenities that I still keep being pleasantly surprised by. I always reccommend Totara Lodge when friends and family mention wanting to find lodging near Wellington and have yet to hear any bad reviews from them either!”

“No wall oven or extractor fan in kitchen which limited cooking options/made it a bit difficult to cook - advertised as full kitchen so was expecting this but also should have looked at photo. Some road noise at night as right next to road. Very warm and cosy.”

“The beds were comfortable. The milk was frozen. The shower confusing, time consuming, inconsistent and very temperamental. Batteries in the aircon remote were flat so the room was quite cold without the extra heating so could do with some spare blankets, luckily we bought one with us. We stayed in room G4 the Family room with ensuite, which is the only roadside accesible room and you cant access the rest of the building through this door. There needs to be a little more signage to indicate this...
