“We rented the apartment named "The view". The name couldn't have been more accurate. This apartment had a beautiful view of the bay and buck island. We had a super smooth check in and check out. Place was very clean and the host even had snacks and drinks waiting for us when we arrived. All in all this was a very nice place to stay and well worth the money. I would recommend this place.”

“2nd time to stay here in last 6 months. Rooms are clean, A/C and ceiling fans keep room cool. The bed is comfortable. It’s an older hotel that they are trying to update. Would/will stay there again. Also, for St Croix, the price is reasonable. Did not eat at restaurant so I can’t comment on that.”

“Owner was very friendly and hospitable. Room was clean (we did not like the rugs). Bed was comfortable. We do suggest the shower contain a shelf for all of the guest’s shower items. We had to put everything on the shower floor. We suggest having a clothing cabinet in the room to store clothing for guests. They did supply, I believe, 8 hangers and the room had plenty of rod space for hanging clothes. Overall, we give the hotel a 4.5 out of 5.”

“We stayed eight nights and it was okay. I was shocked by the fact that guests have to pay twenty dollars a day to use an umbrella on the beach, and you only get one free lounger, your travel partner will have to pony up 15 bucks. No coffee maker in any of the rooms. Our sliding glass door to the balcony was broken, and we only had WiFi in our room for about 5 minutes the entire time. The pictures are very inaccurate, the place is in shambles from hurricane damage and it’s a bit depressing when...

“We enjoyed all the access the Buccaneer had to offer. The beaches are beautiful. The one thing I would do differently is rent a car. Also, I wish the property had access to rent a golf cart if you weren’t golfing. The expense of some of the food was something to plan for or to purchase a meal plan for the next trip. It was a great vacation, overall.”

“Awesome views at The Waves!! AMA restaurant and Cane bay beach within close proximity made us want to stay on the north shore all week. Front desk and housekeeping were super helpful and responsive to our needs. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in St Croix I would highly recommend staying here. And my wife and I can’t wait to visit again!”

“Definitely, a gem on the island. My room was clean, spacious, and my favorite part is the AC put in work! The grounds were well-maintained, and the staff was friendly. My only critiques are the lack of chairs on the actual beach and the lack of umbrellas for the chairs available. Overall, I enjoyed my time there. I would definitely revisit The Fred.”

Views are wonderful, beach is very nice and not crowded, bartender Connor was excellent and food truck was delicious!! We fell in love with the cats around our cabin. “Sandcastle hotel was an awesome place to stay. The front desk personnel were helpful at check-in explaining what was available as far as amenities during our stay. The only thing I can say is the continental breakfast offered at the check-in desk needs an improvement. Other than that, the hotel grounds are pleasant and well manicured.
