Motel a Fiordland National Park

“This was one of our favorite stays in New Zealand. The lake view is so beautiful and the grounds were absolutely stunning in March with cherry trees blooming. We appreciated how close we were to the town center and enjoyed eating at the Ranch and watching the movie at the Black Dog. We had an overnight cruise planned to Doubtful Sound so at the staff's suggestion we drove to Milford sound to take in the views. That was a remarkable day that we would have missed out on otherwise. “From the moment you click on the website, its premise is based on a lie, for ‘Lakeside Te Anau Accommodation’ it is not! “Overall acceptable “motel” but probably not worth the value , it’s close to the lake but certainly not to the front. The “front” of the rooms offer fantastic views and sounds from a trafficking road instead. Rooms are pretty old fashioned and the bed was garnished with a brownie fake ( and dusty) fur. Welcoming was excellent though but certainly not sufficient to compensate.”

“Really welcoming and friendly staff, room was clean and very pleasant to stay in. We appreciated the advice on what is locally available and for our trip.”

“We got in late and the hotel accommodated us and had everything ready. And then when I forgot an item in the room the hotel had it easy for us to pick up at a later time. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.”

“Strong shower pressure and a very clean room. Unfortunately, we had a power outage on the second evening, although thankfully it was restored within an hour.”

“Lovely location and great amenities”
