“On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

“Il pub é bello e la struttura pulita.e ordinata. Si percepisce amore e cura. Il cibo é ottimo l, in particolare il Sunday roast. I proprietari sono gentilissimi e disponibili, oltre che sorridenti e simpatici. Per le nostre abitudini il letto della stanza in cui eravamo era un po' piccolo ma comodo. Le dimensioni della stanza piuttosto ridotte ma c'è tutto quello che serve. Ottima dotazione di asciugamani e cuscini. ”

“Stayed for three nights. Very comfy bed. Helpful staff. TV not working when arrived. New one ordered and fitted the next day!! Excellent food. Continental breakfast served in a hamper each morning. Dinner menu refreshingly different!!!”

“Middleham is a beautiful place to stay and to enjoy walking and a bit of wild swimming. The place oozes character. Richard III boasts age and character, so don’t stay here if you want modern. No breakfast included which we hadn’t checked, but there is a lovely tearoom but 2minutes walk away, racing stables close by so plenty of thoroughbreds trotting through the centre. I found the place delightful.”

“Did not have a refrigerator as was advertised. Breakfast was nice. Hamburger was nice. The seabass was very tiny. Carpet in the room was clean. The manager of the restaurant was very helpful. Very convenient hotel right off the highway. Had hard to find elevators, free parking, and A/C.”

“It was fine for an overnight stop well stocked bar, breakfast a bit pricey if you do not take advantage of the full buffet, we had an evening meal that was fair. Our room 14 was right at the top of the building and not best access for a couple in their seventies very winding steep stairs, but we do appreciate it is a very old building. We also had a very strong smell in the bathroom and had to leave the fan on to keep it at bay. Staff were friendly and helpful”

“Great single room with en suite shower. This is a pub/restaurant/hotel but no noise disturbance even at the weekend. Staff all friendly and happy to help. Sunday roast was huge and very tasty. Would defo stay again if in the area.”

“Lovely hotel for a reasonable price”

“Room was in good condition however it was a disabled room that was not advised on booking. There was an intermittent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Seeing the disabled room I immediately requested a room change but here was not much enthusiasm as we had a 2 night stay and was told the hotel was full the following night so not much they could do and on the first night there were currently no other made up rooms. Overall the staff at the bar and in the restaurant and around the hotel...
