“The rooms were kept very clean! Surprising for a hotel whose furniture and walls/decor could be upgraded a bit. Not sure when they were last touched up. The cleaning staff sure is cleaning properly though! No weird smells or stains or hair in the shower..overall a good stay! Breakfast was good too. I would recommend it.”

“We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7...

“The whole place smelled like weed, and there were a lot of sketchy people around. We didn’t feel safe. The room seemed clean, but not in the best shape. The refrigerator/freezer was dirty. Some damaged spots on the walls. The bathtub was not in good shape. There was no hair dryer. It was one of the worst places I have ever stayed, if not the worst.”

He was very kind, helpful, and hard working. He went over and beyond to assist me. He was very informative. He needs to be the executive manager here and I'm sure the place would do better.
