Starting off with what I thought was the one negative and it is there is no AC. If you cannot live without AC, this is not the place for you. I am one of those people, BUT I took a quick shower when we arrived and realized the breeze off of Hana Bay immediately cooled off the room. The fans added even more comfort. My negative wound up not being too bad. We stayed two nights and 1 minute after that shower I truly did not need the AC guy and trust me, I am the guy who has the air on in the winter!
View is spectacular. Ocean waves are literally crashing right outside of your window. The town of Hana is remote, so be prepared to have little to no cell service, but the WiFi in the Hana Kai worked very well.
No TV. Our teenagers brought cells and iPads. More than enough. We went exploring during the day past Hana and came back for dinner at the Hana Ranch. It was very good. Ate there both nights. Had 6:30 reservations, was in bed (all of us) by 9 and out cold. Had two great nights of rest.
Place is very much worth it if you are not looking for a ton of amenities. The road to Hana can be long and Hana Kai allowed us to enjoy the town for one full day. You have to stay two nights at a minimum.
