ADDITIONAL GOOD TO KNOW DETAILS:
- There is parking for 1 vehicle just outside the cabin
- There is another cabin on the property just beyond this cabin about ~40 feet away. This is a separate space but you may see other vehicles coming or going past the cabin in the shared driveway. The spaces are separated and private from one another with a large pine tree and a carport between them. Refer to photos for the layout of the property.
- The cabin has a small water heater that's rated to last for 1-2 standard showers. Some people may never notice but if you take a very long hot shower, you may run out of hot water and need to wait for it to heat back up (~1 hr) so you may want to plan accordingly to space out showers if you have multiple people showering and conserve hot water (ex: wait to wash dishes until after showering).
*** County or State Wide Burn Bans or restrictions could be implemented at times due to Virginia's current state of drought. Please search for Carroll County Fire bans or reach out prior to your stay if you want to confirm if any restrictions are in place. These are outside of our control and no refunds will be issued due to these restrictions. Any fines or penalties issued due to non compliance are the responsibility of the guest.
- The creek is usually shallow unless we have a lot of rain and is best enjoyed from the decks or in the meadow/at the fire pit. Enter at your own risk and use caution as the banks can be steep.
- The cabin has no central air conditioning or heating. Open the bedroom windows to hear the creek at night, or there is a window AC unit installed currently in the bedroom to ensure a peaceful night sleep. The cabin is warmed with a propane heater for chilly mornings and has an electric heater in the bedroom as well. The space is only about ~400 sq feet but may be chilly or warm upon arrival depending on the weather. Turn on the heaters or AC in the bedroom to quickly warm or cool the space.
- The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road. There is only parking for one vehicle and the parking space is just slightly larger than your average parking lot spot. Low profile vehicles are not recommended as the driveway can get bumpy at times.
